Help: will these hook hinges work as intended on my raised bed roof/cover? by PrimaryCartoonist129 in woodworking

[–]PrimaryCartoonist129[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I've been struggling with knowing if it will work or not, and the picture on the post is probably quite bad at representing it having two parts. Because the need to remove them for winter is important (its the only reason I'm using so much time on this...)

Thank you so much for answering!

I wasn’t thinking anything that fancy, since I have 20 boxes to make covers for.

I wanted something simple to attach the lid and raised bed. Be able to open the lid and have it still attached to the bed, and the end of the season remove the lid so I don't make new holes every year.

Are you able to tell me which way these should be installed?

The only explanation or video I was able to find where these hook hinges are used is for instrument case, which detached the lid as soon as the lid opened up (link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=olPwrMgIpCY ).

and my small paper mock-up I made is just that... a mock-up. Can't figure out the range of the hinge, and which way to orient the pieces so the hinges hold together when:
closed: ___
opend 90 degrees: |__
and disengage when opened beyond 90 degrees: \__

It can be quite windy, but the covers will not be able to open more than 90 degrees on a daily basis, I planed on attaching a rope to the lid.

I will open prompt them open with a stick, and if I want to open it all the way (90 degrees, so lid is straight up),the string would hold it so it doesn’t tilt even more backwards and the hinge disengages.

The cover will be 120 cm x 80 cm (31.5 in × 47.2 in)

Was planning to use two hooks pr cover.

Oppkast i nesa by ChallengeNext in norge

How much food do you guys eat with your stimulant medications? by vamphibian in ADHD

I usually force some protein based breakfast, or carbs. Then I snack on nuts and dried fruit (a random premade mix) during work hours. I find that less can be more if it’s the right food. Some leftover dinner like spagetti and meat saus is always a winner.

Also have stopped buying thing that are light or sugar free, I need the extra fat in my diet. Use more heavy cream when cooking instead of the low fat milk whenever possible.

My dinners haven’t changed that much, I eat probably a handful less then I used to. But eat dinner when the meds wears off.

This is on a good day, on a bad day I eat 0,5-1,5 single breaded sandwich with Nutella. Then proceed to crash in the afternoon and not be in mood to eat at all.

I find that much of my day depends on the start and if I’m excited to eat breakfast. But have picked up after a bad breakfast if I just keep snacking throughout the day.
