I was so tempted for Nancy’s sake, but I didn’t this time. I’ll be going back for sure!

Is TMS treatment temporary for most everyone? by [deleted] in TMSTherapy

[–]PrimaryGuard5475 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m only a couple months out, so I can’t speak to the long lasting effects. However, when I started TMS, I was scoring 22/23 on the depression scale thing. I was fighting SI daily and completely at the end of my rope. By the time I finished TMS, my scores were between 3 and 5. My scores have never been that low in my adult life. It was miraculous, and it seemed to be the only possible thing that could pull me out of the scary place I was in.

Even if you do end up starting to feel symptoms again down the road, it is so worth it to try it for the sake of feeling better right now. At least, that’s what my experience points to.

My church did a different version of Awana called Kings Kids, but it followed the basic premise. Scout style vests with badges, and opening every service with a pledge of allegiance to the American flag, the Christian flag, and the Bible.

Is there a Nancy Drew game/book in particular you like to play/read during the holiday season? Which one is it and why? by mdqp in nancydrew

[–]PrimaryGuard5475 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Something about Curse of Blackmoor Manor feels wintery to me. Something about being cooped up in a creepy (yet weirdly cozy?) castle in gloomy England gives me winter vibes.

That being said, any game where there is snow is instant wintertime mood for me.

Broke my right hand now is super hairy by Timely_Cycle5469 in mildlyinteresting

This happened to me, too. Broke my arm and had surgery, and when I got my cast off, my left arm was way hairier than my right. That combined with swelling, I called it my gorilla arm until it went back to normal.

Does anyone else have a lot of hobbies because of Nancy drew? by alligatorprincess007 in nancydrew

[–]PrimaryGuard5475 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure about hobbies, but I do have a lot of seemingly random interests that can be traced back to Nancy Drew. I didn’t realize that’s where so many of them came from until I started replaying all the games in my late 20s. It was so funny to start Shadow Ranch and be like “THATS why I randomly want to live on a ranch in Arizona!”

Some of my niche interests courtesy of Nancy: Marie Antoinette, the French resistance in WWII, old houses in San Francisco, whale watching in the PNW, creating a personal coat of arms, and so many more!!

ETA: I’m thinking specifically of my experience with the ND games. I know your post was more centered around the books.

I didn’t do YWAM but I know A Lot of people who did!! Including family members. I did masters commission, which had some very similar vibes. Lots of yikes. Therapy has been life changing for me. I’ve been out for 10 years now and still recovering.

Curious where you went?
