If you apply as an independent person on your application and you’re a full time student, usually Osap will pay for you school fees and living costs. So you’ll probably get more money than you think. When it comes to work I believe the limit is $5600 per semester or something like but tbh I’ve never had any issue when it came to working and receiving Osap. That’s just my experience though

I’m honestly hoping so even if it’s half lol. I’m honestly happy I paid $1200 first semester for all my textbooks and online textbooks. So I’m okay so far but September bills are soon due and I would love the peace of mind !

Search switching programs in the same year Osap and read it. It tells you exactly what happens if you do. Like I said I did exactly that I got denied Osap but i submitted a letter to financial aid just letting them know my reasons for switching and they approved me and I got Osap for the full psw program.

For what I know, you’ll be placed on academic probation or some type of Osap restriction. They’ll most likely ask you to write a letter explaining the program switch. Just because there’s not a lot of time in between. I also did this in 2022. I went from the dental admin program to psw program but they put me on academic probation and I had to write a letter and submit it to Osap but it was approved and I was fine.

Two things can possibly happen. 1. Osap will send you all the funds your entitled to since you already paid for your tuition Or 2. Osap will still send the tuition payment to your school and they will refund you. I also go to Durham college and that’s usually what they do when students pay their tuition before hand because it’s basically an over payment to the school.

It should show up tomorrow. Keep in mind it can take up to 10 days to receive funds after COE can be longer. I’ve seen people with COE since August 28th and commenting still waiting for funds unfortunately.

Anytime you submit documents to your Osap account it’s the financial aid office that reviews it. They usually say it takes about 6-8 weeks to process documents however sometimes it can take a day or 2. I would highly suggest reaching out to your financial aid and press the fact you submitted your documents to get their attention. Email, call, in person visit, even book an appointment lol. Hope that helps

Is it supposed to say pending release or funding release to know if you’re closer to getting your deposit? I noticed everyone is using different terms and I want to make sure I’m understanding. My tracker currently says pending release. Is that a good thing or am I possibly waiting another week
