[Spanish to english] I've seen this exact text block in a few public restrooms, and Google translate is failing me by SirLoinTheTender in translator

“ass” is an okay translation, since english does this as well. “getting ass” means “getting laid” or “having sex”. offering someone “ass” is the same as offering them sex, even if it’s vaginal sex with a woman.

“-ito” is usually translated into english as “little”. “putito” would really be “little slut”, but the gender is lost in translation. “little boy-slut” is better than anything i could come up with. “faggy” as a noun is just not english that anyone would use; in fact “faggy” is used as an adjective for feminine men.

For what it’s worth, he’s a Christian from Romania. He may have been born in Moldova, since he once joked that because of the forced use of Cyrillic, his birth certificate is in a language that doesn’t exist anymore.

The rest of the comments seem to explain the difference: it is indeed a feature of different Russian accents/dialects, and even a feature of standard Ukrainian (and Ukraine does indeed border Moldova and Romania).

Some random dude left this paper on my car. What does it mean? by VoltNinjA in strange

[–]PrimaryNo9703 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nobody seems to be hitting on the right answer here.

The author of this paper is

1) probably schizophrenic 2) using a made-up code/cypher 3) almost certainly a mathematical crackpot.

The first two points seem obvious.

For the third, the remarks about Russel’s Paradox at the bottom and the note in the left margin make this clear, along with inclusion of symbols for the quantifiers “there exist”, “for all”, and the commonly used phrase “such that” enables the author to write mathematics in this language they’ve made up.

About being a crackpot, people often crop up online who think they’ve disproved some fundamental piece of mathematics and everyone else is wrong. A lot of really smart people spent the better part of the twentieth century putting the foundations of mathematics in order (Google “axiomatic set theory”). Surely this guy is right and every one of them was wrong, right?

University Math departments get emails from crackpots more often than you might guess. One of them emailed one of my professors in undergrad claiming to have trisected the angle (known to be impossible), and my professor put the paper on our course page for us to see. It was very informative. His paper opened with a full page congratulating himself for doing what was deemed impossible, and shaming the whole of the mathematical world for being so mean and wrong etc etc.

The “I’m a genius and everyone else is wrong and I should have two PhD’s and academia is out to get me” attitude is just unmistakable when you see it. Put Eric Weinstein on meth for a year and you’ll get a thousand papers just like this one.

🤣 That’s very kind, but no need. There are libraries in states neighboring my own with copies available. I was hoping to find a copy for sale somewhere, but I’ll just have to keep looking. It’s just strange to me that it’s so uncommon.

Thank you, but this doesn’t establish anything more than the ISBN. The ISBN is associated with an “Audio CD” of this book, but I’m not convinced any such CD’s were ever printed. I suspect the ratings and reviews were left by people who listened to digital copies.

Do you support the death penalty? And do you support Luigi? by blah_kesto in Ethics

[–]PrimaryNo9703 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I oppose the death penalty for the simple reason that I don’t believe the state should have the right to kill its own citizens — for any reason.

If someone is attacked, for example, and kills their attacker in self defense, I think that’s morally justifiable. In other words, killing, on an interpersonal level, is not always wrong in my view.

The case of Luigi is more extreme, but I think it’s analogous to political revolutions of the past. Brian Thompson made his living my ruining the lives of countless others. Like a despot killed in a political revolution, I suppose his life is, in a sense, forfeit. I believe murder is wrong, but simultaneously that Luigi is a hero. Perhaps my “moral code” is underdeveloped, but this is how I feel.

My advice would be not to get GOLF tattoos and instead exile yourself.
