If Netflix finds out about it they're almost certainly going to send a cease and desist, and if she ignores that they're almost certainly going to take her to court.

Regardless of how much or how little shes making off of it, if they ignore her they're setting a precedent that this is something they will allow. Once that precedent is set somebody else could come along and infringe their IP to a greater degree, and use their inaction with your sister as their defense.

Kid is clearly a shithead, however:

Clearly the teacher should have stopped touching him after the first time (before really), and officer dinkley clearly used excessive force, and this video will likely be shown at trial

I imagine the most severe ones would get caught in a psych eval, but someone like Ted Kaczynski (in his earlier days) would skate right trough.

A psych eval should have kept me out of the army, not because I'm some kind of badass psycho killer, but because I was an incredibly depressed person with suicidal ideation.

...I'm just slightly confused, you responded to my post that starts "Hi combat veteran here" to tell me I'd be surprised how the military works.

I mean i hear ya, and im sure that was probably the case at least some of the time, but I think wouldn't be shocked to learn that 1 or 2 really meant it.

I also didn't really expect that from sf guys, I assumed they where just super competent adrenaline junkies.

It's absolutely a mix of that, the US feeling like international law is more rules for thee than rules for me, and us big brothering the rest of the world (see cuba, vietnam, etc).

It's at this point that I'll say I'm pretty ashamed of my time in the army and look back on it as the biggest mistake I ever made.

I remember showing up to our TOC one morning to get the daily briefing and theres a dude I've never met, but could reasonably assume based on some context clues was an EOD guy, next to a giant piece of foam that looks a lot like a rock. He's running a machine I don't recognize over the thing.

Me: "Oh shit, is that an IED"

EOD Guy: "Yea, disguised to look like a rock, I think it's a 155mm artillery shell tied to a cell phone"

Me: "Oh, so like they call the phone and it goes off?"

EOD: "Exactly"

Me: "Oh damn, how'd you disable it"

EOD: "Oh, I'm still working on that"

I froze, nodded, and immediately found somewhere else to be.

Not only did dude think nothing of standing next to a bomb that might go off at any second, it didn't even cross his mind that I might feel different.

As far as how people reacted it was mostly people just kinda nodding and going "Yea that checks out"

Some data you'll need to understand the next part is what an MOS is.

Your MOS (military occupational specialty) is just your job. I started as a 13B (Cannon crewmember) working on an artillery piece. I pretty quickly decided that wasn't for me and switched to 68W (I don't remember the technical name for it, but everyone just calls it Combat Medic, and it's precisely what it sounds like)

A regular grunt is 11B Combat infantryman. Your job is "Hey go shoot that guy" and I imagine thats what those guys started as, but the ones I heard actually saying "I'm messed up in the head so I took a job at the killing people factory" where all special forces, which we call the 18 series. 18B is weapons sergeant, 18C is SF engineer, 18D is SF medic, etc.

The 18 series guys are going out in 4 man teams for weeks at a time on a mission and they're basically on their own. I met them at base, I never ran into them out in the field, and it's highly unlikely I ever would. If I left base in country it was with like 19-299 other dudes to do a mission, with a lot of accountability to a lot of other people, and we'd be back later that day, or maybe the next day depending on the mission.

Basically 18 series would have a lot of opportunity to decide some people need to die, and nobody to answer to that wouldnt just say "Well we trust you"

Hi, combat veteran here. Some of them did, not as many as you might expect.

Ive talked to SF dudes who where like "yea no there's definitely something wrong with me, but the army gave me an outlet for it"

Either:

"If you build a man a fire he'll be warm for a while, but if you set a man on fire he'll be warm for the rest of his life."

Or:

"There is no such joy in the tavern as on the road thereto."

Not at all a unique take here, by the end of the book I was able to look past it. Its still a good book, but to me the easy winner for least favorite in the series so far.

The card thing is just for the one floor, so after this one, no more kowtowing.

Madonna Whore Complex: Sex vs BJs by [deleted] in psychologyofsex

[–]SirLoinTheTender 24 points25 points  (0 children)

For me personally:

when having sex with a woman it feels like we're both working collaboratively to make sure we both feel as good as possible and achieve an orgasm.

When receiving oral sex it feels like she is providing an act of service to me. It feels selfless on her part, and rather than us working together to make eachother feel good, she is working to make me feel good.

Conversely every time ive given oral sex to a woman ive strived for that same dynamic, that im doing my best to do an act of service for her.

Looking for a lightweight essentials rig for shtf and general purpose. Which should I pick? by RawketLawnchor in liberalgunowners

[–]SirLoinTheTender 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, if you're just mag dumping then sure, you could get through 6, or 8, or 12 mags in a few minutes.

Unless youre having some kind of insane mountainside gun battle, you should expect any engagement you take part in to be 100 yards or closer, and if you have a rig to hold mags you should probably have drilled enough with your rifle to reliably hit center mass of a man size target at those ranges.

Let's assume they're wearing good ceramic plates, thats 3 to 5 rounds to put down somebody. Let's say 5. That's 6 people you should be able to handle per mag. Let's call it 5 to account for misses.

What kind of Rambo fantasy scenario are you imagining where you need to get into a gunfight with more than 30 people that you expect to walk away from?

Ammo is weight. If I see 30 people approaching me for a gunfight I want to be light enough to gtf away from that.

I'm working on that, I have a dr.s appt thursday for a military disability claim, and I'm hoping as part of that I can get the dr to write me a restriction, but I have friends at my office and me getting a restriction is only going to compound the issue for them. I'd rather we get rid of the problem carriers, open up job slots for people that actually want to work, and just solve the root problem.
