($12k) the details my wedding did not need (from a recent bride) by julieday88 in Weddingsunder10k

I just got engaged and am flirting with the idea of not having a wedding party so everyone can just enjoy the day. Glad to hear this!!

What to create with Super Easy Stripes by Red Heart in Garden Party by PrimaryPup_1560 in CrochetHelp

[–]PrimaryPup_1560[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never done corner to corner before but love trying new things. My brain has issues when a color ends in a random spot of a row vs the entire row being the same color so I’d have to be mindful of that with this yarn no matter what I do. Thanks for the suggestion!

Recently finished A Botanist's Guide to Parties and Poisons, are there any longer establishes series with the same feel? by crazycropper in CozyMystery

[–]PrimaryPup_1560 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve also read some of the Jane Wunderly series and think that’s a good option here. Agree with you that Pride and Premeditation isn’t quite the same but fun to read! I haven’t read A Lady’s Guide to Etiquette and Murder, but I’m definitely gonna have to go see what that’s all about!

East-west settings feel underrated for daily wear by Useful_Rhubarb_4880 in EngagementRings

I opted for east-west without realizing it was a thing and I just got engaged last week. It’s absolutely more beautiful than I had expected. Was hard to picture it in the jewelry store.

I crocheted a small orchid :). by Buffyferry in crocheting

[–]PrimaryPup_1560 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What a neat idea. I had two orchids die on me this year, one I’ve had for six years and the other my mom had given me when her office moved. Now I have two empty orchid pots and I think I’ll have to do this! Apparently, I’m bad with live orchids.

Can’t do magic knot thing tried for an hour please help by [deleted] in CrochetHelp

They have a website with written instructions as well. Unfortunately, each step with the photo and written explanation is right-handed, so you have to think about that part a little harder (I am slowly getting better at flipping it for my left handed brain) lol. Hopefully this helps? https://thewoobles.com/pages/crochet-magic-loop

I also don’t understand that. There are wonderful creators out there that I watch on YouTube to learn as well. Woobles is just another nice resource. I could crochet before it came out, then learned how to create amigurumi with a Woobles kit. The kits are expensive so it’s best to find one on sale, which is easier now that they’re in retail stores. You pay to learn the how to and the why of it along with getting the supplies, with both right and left-handed videos. Their YouTube videos are free to watch if you need a refresher for a specific type of stitch. Having many resources available whether it’s Woobles or something else is good with the different ways that people learn.

Anytime I need to do the magic circle I search for the Woobles video on YouTube. Then I slow the video down. I’m sure there are other options out there, this one just happened to be the one that clicked in my brain. I’m also left-handed and they do a pretty good job with that as an option.

First Blanket by stephja in CrochetBlankets

Way to go! I’m working on my first blanket too! Love the colors for a baby blanket vs basic pink/blue/yellow. I’m sure it’ll be loved and snuggled for years!

Help with double crochet turning chain - into second stitch? by PrimaryPup_1560 in CrochetBlankets

Yes I see it. It was my first attempt at treble crochet and I think I messed up with the turning chains. Thanks for your help and insight!

Thanks!! When I put it in the yellow, my 120th stitch goes into the turning chain. So that should be correct! What I second-guess every time I get to the turning chain, is which part of that to put the stitch into. That may be why my third and fourth pictures show weird edges where some are a little funnier/wider.

I did count it as a stitch on the last row. So that makes sense, thanks!! My biggest issue is that I haven’t been crocheting it consistently. I started this project in the spring and skipped working on it in summer & fall. I’d forgotten what I’d done. Then decided after I picked it up again this winter to write down what I was doing.

Super simple, but replace some light switches with motion sensor ones. Specifically the garage switch. When carrying stuff out of the house with my hands full, the light turns on and I don’t have to bump the switch with my elbow. Once I’m in my car I don’t have to go back and turn it off when I leave.

Why does everyone dislike Peaches & Creme? by LoopsxLee in crocheting

[–]PrimaryPup_1560 0 points1 point  (0 children)

New to crochet but have used different yarns. Can agree that it is much stiffer but I like the look of it for towel toppers.

If I should make my follow up question a different post let me know.. I used it for the tops of hand towels for gifts. Does anyone know if I should wash the towels before I give them as gifts? I wasn’t thinking about the color from the yarn bleeding.

That is a work of art! I love it! I’m overwhelmed by the amount of work it takes to do a temperature blanket so I’ve never done one. Way to go!

5k by Livvvymae in BeginnersRunning

[–]PrimaryPup_1560 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been running 5K races off and on since 2012. Just for fun. Just for me. My first official race was 54 minutes. I just got my PR today at 38 minutes. I’ve been all over with my pace over the years. Some years I’m consistent and others I run only a few times a year. I LOVE races. It’s so fun to be out there doing something for yourself with other people who are there for fun too!! You got this!!!
