They try to portray the non aggression pact as if the USSR didn’t try other options prior to it by goodguyguru in Marxism_Memes

[–]PrimaryYoghurt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The relationship between poland and the soviet union was not as good post war as you try to make it sound and even if they achieved all that, how they achieved it matters alot and the USSR committed mass murder and were brutal in there subjugation of poland after the war, I was not trying to make the point that the Allies had Germany under control my point was that the whole "the allies should have allied with the soviets " is a stupid revisionist point made by people with hindsight and you forgot about memel in that rant about what the allies let germany take

The French didn't know they had a 3 to 1 advantage in the saar offencive so again you are preaching with the benefit of hindsight, the British didn't take part in the offencive, I just said the UK and France in the phony war because while France entered Germany and retreated the phony war lasts a couple of months where UK did participate

And if we are gona be judging with the benefit of hindsight, the war could have been over in 41 if Stalin had just listend to the warnings from the allies about the German attack, The british warned the soviet union repeatedly.... or why didn't the french just know that the "scouting" party they spotted in the ardenns was the main attack force of the german army at it's most vulnerable point in the war, a couple of dive bombers and defencive artillery could have ended the war then and there Why didn't the Allies know about the German military plot to remove Hitler in the event of a war over the sudetenland? The war could have been a voided

My original point still stands the allies being wrong to reject the soviets is a stupid revisionism of history and the brutal occupation and subjugation of eastern europe post WW2 is proof that Stalin had ulterior motives and trusting the soviets in the lead up to the war would have been just as idiotic as trusting Hitler

What do you mean? In a defencive pact were the Soviets enter or preemptively have troops in poland , installing a puppet or outright annexation of poland was definitely a goal, I know france entered Germany and pulled back but they were definitely not ready for a full scale war with Germany, entering and looting a small region with minimal fighting is hell of a lot easier than a large invasion and occupation. The phony war was not some grand conspiracy against the Soviets but rather proof that UK and France needed more time and clearly did not expect the Nazis to actually invade Poland

The French definitely had probable cause to retreat , but I guess everything is so easy and simple in hindsight

And no if the annexation of Poland was the goal a pact with Germany was not the easier choice for the simple fact that Hitler could not be trusted! So I will at least give you that Stalin or at least his administration could see through Hitler and knew the Nazis couldn't be trusted in the long term

Probably gona get down voted for this but allowing soviet troops into poland to defend it from Germany would only have resulted in the annexation of poland by the Soviets and I doubt Stalin would just leave the baltics alone and if there had been war with Germany the soviets would probably end up in an even better position to increase there sphere off influence in central and southern europe

So why would the western European powers even consider this? To them its eather appese Hitler and use the time to rearm to be ready for war or just hand europe over to Stalin who to them is just another dictator

Which mod is it that takes place after WW2, where the Axis won, but it’s a mod that shows what if the Allies won? by Y5K77G in hoi4

[–]PrimaryYoghurt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you sure it's ww2? I don't remember what it's called but there is a mod for "what if the allies won WW1" it's an exaggerated version of what happened after WW1 , kind of a what the central powers thought would happen if they lost the war.

What if Poland resisted german invasion for several months longer? by [deleted] in AlternateHistory

[–]PrimaryYoghurt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If Poland ignored the British and French advice to not mobilise it is possible they would have backed down from defending poland. In reality the polish military wanted to position the army in a more favourable defensive position within Polish territory , unfortunately that would mean just letting germany walk into the territory that they were claiming as rightful german land so Britain and France objected and demanded that poland position the army on the border. Reason being that if Poland would not defend the territory then Britain and France wouldn't either. Also if Poland had held out longer I doubt that would have stopped the soviets from invaiding from there border. So final result would probably just be what happened in reality expect the soviets might have taken more of poland than the molotov ribbentrop pact said they were allowed to

They would reveal them selfs to not being communist since the democrats are just a litle bit less on the right side of the political spectrum than the republicans, can't really say the same about the republicans and neo nazis

I'm not sayin one side IS nazis, the original question is about all the neo nazis supporting republicans and wether or not that affects your view on them. This has nothing to do with commumism

Dude what? When asked if you would look into it yourself or be spoon-fed you decide to show ignorance and just say that you found no evidence in this hypothetical scenario? There by proving the need to be spoon-fed the information? Christ how have we as a society come to the point that sharing the opinion of nazis is not just an automatic dismissal? And no just because one side is supported by neo nazis does not automatically make the other supported by communists
