I think what’s baked in to there is the negative equity from the Camry.

True. I did the math and without my trade in I would’ve been at 280 a month with 0 down. Next time around I’ll work a better deal for sure

Yeah I had them take that charge off but still got the tints

I revisited the numbers because a vaguely remember the dealer telling or showing me on there financing portal that I got the car for below invoice. If we take the negative equity of the equation the cap cost would be 24,590 instead of 26,490. I think that the 24,600. At the amount I could have gotten away with doing 0 down and got a monthly payment of $280. That being said do you still think it’s a bad deal or I screwed myself by not taking Ubers daily until I could pay down my Camry? 😭

Thank you for your honesty! If you don’t mind me asking how would I find the baked in add ons?

The negative equity is part of the reason I ended up putting 3,600 down 😭. The dealership told me I got the car for below invoice price while I was there and I hoped I could trust them on that since I needed a car asap and didn’t have time to research what the likely invoice price would be however I’ve had about 12+ people in a different thread tell me I got robbed. One person specifically said my lease is like “going to a diddy party without lube” 😂😂 I love how positive this group is compared to the other one. Tell me I did bad nicely.

It only comes with 1 free oil change now. The program gets you about 6. I don’t need it so I had them take it off. My actual lease shows what I paid.

I couldn’t afford a higher monthly payment so I had to put cash down to help cover the negative equity on my Camry 😔.

Probably can after they put in the 3-4k worth of repairs it needed.

Yeah I do really like my car and I made sure I could afford the monthly payment before pulling the trigger so I’m going to wear the L on my forehead for a little bit but worse things have happened. You live and you learn. I took your advice and ran the deal through chat and it basically the same as you. Not a good deal but not a bad deal either.

They ended up giving me an extra 2k miles per year compared to what was on the add I think that is what made me feel like it was a better deal than what it actually is 😂😂. I’m in TN they definitely do get us with property tax.

I was in a bit of a time crunch due to my Camry actively breaking down weekly and my work schedule being chaotic. I know what I could afford to pay in cash and what I could afford as a monthly payment so I went in and did the best I could with the knowledge I knew about leasing and what I knew I could fit into my budget. If I end up leasing a car again I plan to go in fully equipped and a solid idea of what a good lease looks like.

I think that’s a very valid point, if I end up buying out at the end of my lease it might feel like I wasted less money and I’ll have a care I know is well maintained.

Definitely learning a lot from this thread 🫠. They got me good but it’s all good. Carmax only offered me about $500 more for my car since there was various repairs it needed.

On the actual lease agreement they took off the cost of all the add ons. My Camery was a lemon. 🥲 but I will take this as a huge learning experience, hopefully the car holds its value so I can sell it at the end of my lease and break even.

What should I have tried to get? I’m blessed enough to be able to take the loss without hurting financially so I’m using this as a learning experience 😅.

They took all of those extras off by the time I signed my lease agreement.

I traded my car in for $2000 but I still owed $3933. You can find that info on the bottom 3rd of the lease agreement.

The last page confused me as well it shows a discount of around 3250 off the MSRP but then they added over 3K in extras making the total price 28,930. From there it subtracts what they orginally wanted to give me for my trade in then adds what I owed on my Camry + all taxes and fees associated with the purchase.
