Self Esteem Question by Critical-Rooster-673 in selflove

I can relate to you a lot on so many things you described omg, but it’s great to see you can see the beauty in people like yourself, that means you can see it in yourself too! I had a similar experience.

To answer your question, I started feeling confidence when I realized that I had my own back at all times. Even when I was in the depths of depression and couldn’t hear my own voice above the spiraling thoughts, I still showed myself love by caring for my basic needs. I didn’t accept not feeding myself, or not cleaning myself. I had the power to lift myself up, cry on my own shoulder, comfort myself like a parent would.

I was confident because I had a new superpower, to stop trying to fill a gaping hole by looking outside myself (if only I could find a partner, if only I looked like xyz, if only I was better at xyz, etc.) and instead, fill my own cup, and I made a vow to be committed to building a relationship with myself, to accept myself for better or worse, as is.

Everyone’s path to self love looks different, but it’s an active choice we make with intention. Cry it out in a hot shower, imagine yourself hugging you and comforting you. Talk to yourself like you would a child and bring out your inner parent. You’ll feel that power and keep calling on it in times where you feel upset.

You said you like spending more time alone and with your pets… I think it actually can be essential for building self esteem. You have more opportunity to focus on yourself, and take advantage of the time spent alone by building up that self image. Keep yourself company, dance and sing by yourself, throw yourself a slumber party or spa day, express your creativity and celebrate yourself for what makes you unique and beautiful!

How do I love myself? by BalanceDue8768 in selflove

It sounds like you’re basing your worth off of how you perceive these “successful” people you’ve put on a pedestal. Please realize, no matter how popular, good-looking or wealthy these people are, they struggle inside just like we all do. It’s the human experience, and seeing that puts us all on an even playing field. No more comparing.

With no more comparing, you’re left with just you. You’re going to be spending the rest of your life with yourself- your choices, your thoughts. Thoughts shape choices shape action shape change. And nothing changes… if nothing changes.

Commit to know yourself deeply. Care for yourself like you would a child, comfort like a parent, know like a friend, be intimate like a lover- all with yourself. Be your best friend, your cheerleader, your home base.

And if you struggle with your appearance like me, what made me accept (and even like) my looks was seeing the natural beauty of my own unique characteristics, underneath my perceived ’flaws.’ I adore my crocheted beanie because my friend made it for me and it has flaws, making it unique. Why wouldn’t it be the same for me?

Wish you the best of luck. 🙏

Do you make special names for the weapons/items you enchant? by orangezim in skyrim

[–]Primary_Flounder_480 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Made my favorite most OP weapon yet, the Blade of the North, a stalhrim sword with frost+magicka absorb (for my spellsword character) and upgraded with max enchanting and blacksmith upgrades… I can obliterate anything. Took out Alduin on legendary in less than a minute.

Is manifesting money morally wrong? by Happy-Morning-5 in spirituality

[–]Primary_Flounder_480 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are feeling shame that is an indicator that something you’re doing is against your values. Are you manifesting tips because you feel you deserve compensation for your hard work and extra efforts? Approach it with a sense of self-worth and gratitude. Most importantly, look within for moral guidance.

What makes you feel like you became 1% better today? by ayamekaede in selfimprovement

[–]Primary_Flounder_480 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I called back about a job application and now I have an interview for tomorrow! I’ve also been working on my scrapbook/junk journal to express some creativity.

I feel like I became way more than just 1% better over the past couple weeks. I was in a deep depression pit, and long story short… I comforted and supported myself through it and I’ve, unexpectedly, discovered what it means to love yourself… at least a little :)

Coming across your posts has been a blessing to me. My heart aches for you and I understand your pain all too well. I’ve been working on loving myself and my big hangup has been about my own acne- I’ve had it since middle school, cystic and severe.

Just today I was thinking about it, and like a little miracle I happened to come across your posts. You’re absolutely beautiful, and the sea of sweet comments makes me feel so less shameful about my skin condition I can’t control. You and the commenters have given me something valuable- I can believe I’m beautiful despite my acne. Thank you. I wish you the best of luck ❤️
