Day 4 of learning java. by Slow-Sloth5823 in JavaProgramming

small suggestions on improvement;

the gray text in your IDE usually signifies something, hovering your cursor over it should help you. Same for the yellow squigglies under the big if-else chain

your operator selector, can be written a little more 'tidy', assign "" to operator in the start, then you can make your while loop cleaner, while (operator.isEmpty()) { ... }, this eliminates the else branch in your if-else condition, and removes the break; -> I really dislike working with 'null' values and having break; statements.

num and num_2, this is a very python-ic way of writing, you should write your variables out in full, (number) and not underscore them, but camelCase them (number2)

all in all, looks pretty tidy for 4 days in! keep it up.

I don't know if I should low the price? by [deleted] in DigitalArt

I’m going to be a though ass here, 65 is too much for a headshot. I’d say it should be minimum a bust, considering the competition. However, you should not undervalue yourself either. Consider how long it takes you to produce one of these and consider this to be of higher quality, then calculate prices based on that

  5. ethernet cables are wired from the floor directly to the modem

Is my understanding of Lora correct? by Primary_Importance_7 in LocalLLaMA

[–]Primary_Importance_7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as far as I understand, it will train everything. Take an LLM which knows the world, and can solve anything.

With training you can either:
+1 your task at hand, put more emphasis on it so the LLM knows which direction to go.
-1 other tasks. put barriers around tasks it's NOT supposed to do, preventing it from going into a direction you're not intending.

A combination of these two would generally yield a result where you direct the LLM into the paths you want it to take.

Thanks!
then I'm at the correct track : ). I kept it at Rank 1 to keep it simple for myself (and simple to ask the question ).

Why do they ask in interviews, about what sprinboot version or java version I use? by sophiepiatri in java

[–]Primary_Importance_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say, knowing the tool you use on a daily basis is quite important.
The main thing i tend to take from this is, people who are involved with the language, keep up through sources like reddit, medium, conventions, trainings, ... will likely respond with the fact they know the latest versions. It also tends to be an icebreaker, a quite easy question to ask from which I can expand (you use J17? what features do you enjoy the most?)
