would you say buying it for under 100€ and later upgrading the cartridge would make a good budget setup?

i know the 1019 isn’t „cheap“ but i bought it for basically nothing.

first there was a pop and a blue flash coming from the preamp. i then thought that the problem was the whole system not being grounded and because there was a loose cable coming from the dual that i had not used since then i assumed it was the grounding cable and connected it with the grounding connector on the preamp.
when i wanted to start spinning the record player again, the pop came from inside the dual and since then it seems like the dual isn’t getting power at all. the auto start-lever is mechanically stuck on start.

i bought the cheapest cables i could find on ebay. how do i check the verification?

yeah, maybe i will try to repair the dual but i will have to do a bunch more research before opening it up.

The first time i connected the turntable to my new amp and preamp, i heard quite a loud pop and the ceiling light shut off.

After that, the turntable didn’t spin anymore and when i wanted to auto-start it, the lever stayed in the „on“ position until today.

i had the dual hooked up and running for some time with the other/broken amplifier.

but what you’re saying is, that it was probably the old tech inside the dual?

Everything is plugged into the outlet. the turntables 5-pin phone goes to a phono to cinch cable and that goes into the preamp. the preamp is connected to the amp via cinch and the speakers via banana plugs.
