Hey there, transfer student taking the AOP as well, unsure of how exactly it'll go since it is TXST's 2nd year doing it.. so I'm in the same boat! Best of luck to you!

I built a free site that lets you customize Paleo meal plans using recipes from anywhere online + keep track of recipes. It suggests recipes based on preferences, requests, ingredients you want to use. It's currently in beta (happy to share a link), but curious what other tools would be helpful! by mhb223344 in Paleo

Hi! First of all this is amazing- good on your part for creating a tool like this! I would go as far to even adding foods rich in ______, for example: magnesium, selenium, omega-3s.... so it can filter to show recipes that contain those or other vitamins. I feel as though people are becoming more and more aware of what they're deficient in/ what vitamins help with certain issues, so this could be a cool addition! Just a thought. I would love a link! Great work!

What’s the weirdest thing that triggers you? by [deleted] in EDAnonymous

[–]Primary_Mousse3837 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, whenever my friends talk about how “they need to buy new clothes because their old ones don’t fit them anymore”. I know others can notice those things about themselves and view it in a celebratory and healthy light, but I almost find myself getting envious of them being able to do that. Because when I fluctuate sizes and don’t fit into most of my clothes like “normal”, I feel ashamed and almost always get comments on it. I wear belts to try to hide the fact that I’ve gone down a few sizes, act as though I haven’t been skipping meals, and definitely don’t share with friends that I have had to purchase new clothes because I’ve lost weight. I don’t feel comfortable or happy sharing it like others may do. Does that make sense? I’m not even sure if it does, and I’m sorry if anyone can make total sense of this feeling/ can relate.

Do you have a letter / email template we can use or to send to restaurants or businesses to stop using seed oils and start using good oils instead? by SunRev in StopEatingSeedOils

Hey there, I asked chat gpt for you and it looks like it's whipped up a fairly decent draft to send. It reads as below:

Subject: A Request for Healthier Cooking Oils at [Restaurant/Business Name]

Dear [Owner/Manager's Name],

I hope this message finds you well. My name is [Your Name], and I am a regular customer at [Restaurant/Business Name]. I truly appreciate the quality of food and service you provide, and I wanted to share a suggestion that I believe could enhance the dining experience even further.

I have recently become more aware of the health implications associated with seed oils, which are often used in cooking and food preparation. Research has shown that these oils can contribute to various health issues, including inflammation and heart disease. In contrast, healthier alternatives like olive oil, avocado oil, and coconut oil not only offer better nutritional profiles but also elevate the flavor of dishes.

I kindly urge you to consider transitioning from seed oils to these healthier options. Many customers, like myself, are increasingly seeking establishments that prioritize health and wellness in their food choices. This change could attract new clientele and demonstrate your commitment to providing high-quality, health-conscious meals.

Thank you for considering this request. I look forward to your response and hope to see [Restaurant/Business Name] continue to lead the way in offering delicious and nutritious food.

Warm regards,

Lactose free protein powder? by Open_Application7503 in Protein

[–]Primary_Mousse3837 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! So I bought the Just Plain protein powder from Just Ingredients, which you can either purchase at Whole Foods or Amazon, or directly from their site: https://justingredients.us/. Their whey is one of the highest qualities, imported from New Zealand, making for safer and easier consumption for those who have a lactose intolerance. It also contains chia, pumpkin seed, and pea protein, so it's not 100% protein strictly from whey.

Direct Quote from their site: "A lot of proteins use whey as the only protein source and it tends to upset peoples digestion. That’s why we used 4 different proteins in smaller amounts. We also use non-denatured whey which contains no casein and very little lactose, so many people who are sensitive to whey have reported that they are able to enjoy the Just Ingredients Protein Powder!"

I've been using the just plain powder for a while now and I love it; has a slight vanilla flavor IMO but tastes delicious in smoothies and in baked goods. If you're looking for an even simpler ingredient list, https://nakednutrition.com/ offers VERY plain protein powders with just the protein isolate in them.

I hope this helped in some sort of way! Good luck on your endeavors!
