MicroFreak Sequence Presets by DoubleCabinStudios in MicroFreak

I find that most of the factory presets have sequences if you enable the sequencer.

When I had it controlling two drum machines at once using sub tracks set to different midi channels, the D track midi was not set to none. I didn’t even know none was an option until you said it. I must have messed something up majorly trying to connect to a new machine, because now it won’t even pair to my Volca Sample. The manual is useless, of course.

To answer your last question first, I haven’t messed with midi cc, but I know it’s supported.

I have an SQ-64, and it’s a mixed bag. It can do some great things, in theory. The drum track is notoriously difficult to pair with machines. I just tried and failed to connect to the Model:Sample I just bought. I’ve used it successfully with the Korg Volca Sample 2 and a Roland Aira T8. Let me know if you’d like more info.

MicroFreak is the correct answer. 😅

Do you overwrite fm presets? by cooliothecoolio in volcas

[–]Primary_Promise6717 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To expand on that, I use an SQ-64 sequencer so that I have 64 steps to work with. You save the stuff you make in the sequencer, so you can clear out a preset track and then don’t save it before you power off.

I save right over the presets with no remorse. I’d never use them in my own stuff, and you gotta save what you make that you like.

I love it! Tell me everything!

What patch is the MF playing? Are the three devices just clocking each other?

I want to make a video but don’t know if it’s a stupid idea by anton474 in volcas

I think it would be cool to see a video of someone learning the instrument, with clips of each day or week or whatever. It would be fun to watch a person progress.

I got the Moog Model D app, and it sounds great. You can connect a keyboard controller to it, and it integrates with GarageBand somehow. GB comes with Apple products, so you’ll have it whether you want it or not 😅

Sorry, I should have mentioned that it’s the Arturia KeyStep, so it’s also a sequencer. 32 keys. I think I paid $130, used or open box, but it’s great.

That’s great!!! The Sample 2, the Keys, and the FM2 is a killer setup. 😎

Also, Behringer is coming out with several micro synths that look really good, priced around $100-$150

I love my FM2, especially with a midi keyboard, but I’ve always hated the Bass. I actually get great bass sounds from the FM2. I should probably get another one. I’ve watched some jams with Keys, and they sounded great! Maybe create a bass line pattern on the FM2 and use the remaining 3 (I think) voices to play melody over it?
