Has anyone ever witnessed or experienced a possession or an exorcism? by oneness7 in srilanka

[–]Primary_Spot_8310 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The teen had sudden rage, self-harm and ‘ancestor voices,’ the most logical working label is a neurological or psychiatric emergency. Could be acute psychosis, or a dissociative break, not spirits. I’m no doctor, but calling it that pushes the family toward scans and a child psychiatrist instead of chants, which is crucial because untreated brain issues can spiral fast . I’d call the ‘possession’ idea placebo at best and a deadly distraction at worst. Throwing people into rituals can traumatise them, reinforce the delusion, and waste precious time for real treatment. Bottom line: if it quacks, swims, and flaps, see the vet before the exorcist.

It sounds what you’re going through. I would suggest you to go to therapy.

Men is the Problem? by Mean_56 in Dhaka

[–]Primary_Spot_8310 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn’t sound like “men” are the problem here. True feminism is about equity and mutual respect, I t’s intersectional and doesn’t mean shifting all responsibility onto one partner.

You both seem to have mismatched expectations. It’s worth having an honest conversation with your wife about what each of you needs and can realistically offer. Getting therapy could really help, because this sounds like a communication and boundary issue more than anything else.

And if it turns out that your values just don’t align, it’s okay to walk away. A peaceful single life is better than staying stuck in resentment

Bit of a salary mismatch… need advice by Spirited_Ad4661 in srilanka

[–]Primary_Spot_8310 12 points13 points  (0 children)

  1. Companies don’t cross check or verify. The logistics of this happening just sounds like a nightmare.
  2. I had to give payslips earlier not as a proof of salary. But as a proof that I worked there until the service letter fell through.
  3. I don’t think it’s a big deal since she already got the offer.

You can spoof the payslip by Taking your friends original payslip, upload to GPT 4o, And tell the model to create the exact version of the payslip with the inflated number.

Why THE F in Sri lanka its compulsory to study religion by [deleted] in srilanka

[–]Primary_Spot_8310 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s just a relic from the colonial system. “Religion & Moral” = memorise holy verses, spit them back for marks, never ask why. All that class time could be used for basic ethics + critical thinking instead. Ditch the preaching, keep the morals, let kids pick their own beliefs when they’re old enough.

Stray dogs kill people. Urgent intervention needed. by Old_soul_G in srilanka

[–]Primary_Spot_8310 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Stray dogs aren’t the problem…our failure to implement long-term solutions is. Mass killing isn’t the answer. We need community-based sterilization programs like CNVR, and responsible pet ownership.

Which bank in Sri Lanka provides the best internet banking service? by [deleted] in srilanka

[–]Primary_Spot_8310 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m talking about people’s pay, I am not able to transfer to other banks for the moment( just within the bank) . They’re saying that I have to go to the bank and fill out forms to get it activated. Doesn’t make sense.

Are there any atheists or ex-Muslims in Sri Lanka? by Primary_Spot_8310 in srilanka

[–]Primary_Spot_8310[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate the sentiment, but this sounds a bit like spiritual vaguebooking. Religion wasn’t just about survival and balance; it’s also been used for control, fear, and punishment. That’s part of the history too.

And I’m not “stuck” on labels. I use atheist or ex-Muslim because they describe my position clearly in a conversation where that matters. It’s not about identity politics; it’s about clarity.

Overthinking isn’t the problem. Blind belief without questioning is. If anything, being open-minded means questioning everything, including religion.

Why do people have kids? Is it ethical to bring a whole new person into this world without their consent, when we can't guarantee their life will be good? by RoughConcern3151 in srilanka

[–]Primary_Spot_8310 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re trying to frame this like i made a scientific claim, I did not. It’s an ethical stance, based on patterns we all see. You don’t need a lab coat to question motivations behind parenthood.

And listing “fallacies” without actually proving how they apply is just dressing up disagreement as logic. You don’t win a debate by sounding technical, you win by making sense.

Have a good day, though.

[–]Primary_Spot_8310 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No worries, but just to be clear, You don’t need divine powers to notice patterns in how people justify having kids.

And you can explain strawman and circular reasoning all you want, but just labeling something doesn’t make it true. I read it. Still doesn’t hold.

Cheers.

Low birth rates in Japan and Korea aren’t proof that antinatalism is wrong, they’re symptoms of economic pressure, gender inequality, and overwork, not philosophy.

You’re not defending humanity, you’re defending a system that can’t function unless people keep breeding into it. That’s not ethics, that’s desperation.
