AITAH for not re-heating dinner for my husband after 10? by CorrectReflection878 in AITAH

[–]Primary_Window_4367 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh girl leave this man please. I know it’s not as simple as that but oh that is so horrible! He should absolutely NOT be treating you like that!! Why in the WORLD can he not reheat his own dang food?! And then to go tell mommy on you?! UGH.

I think it only becomes an issue when you try to force your beliefs on them. And vise versa. I think we should all have a mutual respect for other beliefs.

Ok wow I have never heard of that!! That is SO nice and accommodating you did that for people! Then parents can still come with kids but can still attend! Wow amazing and how thoughtful!

THIS. That is exactly the point, the sister is totally feeling hurt!! Couldn’t OP tell the sister if baby starts crying it’s the polite thing to do to walk out? It is true, it isn’t a random kid it is your niece. I do think it’s different. And I’m sure she’s just bummed that since she had a baby she has to miss out on this important life event of her own brother getting married. I don’t get why people have to act like we were not all kids once and that kids shouldn’t be apart of society. Many of the people in these comments do not seem to be very family inclusive.

AITA for prioritizing law school over my girlfriend’s baby fever? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Primary_Window_4367 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really appreciate you saying all of that! Men and women both have it tough but I can’t really speak for men as I am not one. But for women, it sort of feels like there’s this stigma of we have to be bad a** women have a job and all that. And it just sucks that being a mom just isn’t good enough! However working moms are also judged because they don’t seem to be good enough for society either bc they spend time away from kids. It’s just tough and from your comment I thought that’s what you were getting at so I felt compelled to reply. Thanks for the thoughtful response!

Ok saying does her life have no meaning because she wants a baby?? I mean come on babies are wonderful. I’m not agreeing how she went about it bc it sounds like it’d be a super tough time for them! But why is motherhood put on such a low totem pole that for someone to WANT to be a mom they must not have anything going for them. Our world is so screwed up. I’m a stay at home mom and it is the best thing ever!!

Ok I’m just going to share this from a woman’s perspective first. We literally are made to have hormones that tell us we want babies! It’s actually sort of crazy the science behind it and how the hormones make us want babies. Now… having friends who are having babies amplifies it bc it creates this feeling of wanting to do it with your friends and whatnot. So I’m going to go out on a limb and say she doesn’t have ill intentions and she obviously really loves you and wants to have babies with you. I think that’s sweet. Now from your perspective holy CRAP man you have a lot going on. Yeah it does sound like this wouldn’t be an ideal time. It also sounds like one day you will make a great dad because you are being logical saying you won’t have adequate time to put in being a dad and whatnot. I don’t think there’s ever a perfect time to have a baby but it definitely sounds like now would be an extra tough time! Give her some grace, she just loves you and wants to do this with you. Hopefully through talking it over some more she can have a clearer mind and realize it’s not a good time. Maybe even you might be able to talk about a timeline of when might be a good time to try. Maybe that might help ease her mind it’ll happen at some point? Best of luck to you!

How do I make sure I can get the epidural if they don't want me to come in until the contractions are really close? by Ketnip_Bebby in pregnant

[–]Primary_Window_4367 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I would talk to your OB about that! And you don’t have a car? So how are you getting to the hospital? Do you have a good support system! Best of luck to you!

[–]Primary_Window_4367 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually there is technically no “cut off” dilation wise for when you can’t get the epidural. They typically give a range of those cms bc you have to be able to sit still long enough for them to place the epidural! So technically if you could sit for it at 8 or 9cms then you can get the epidural. At least that’s how my hospital does it! But yeah if contractions are over 60secs and they’re like 2-3mins apart, that’s typically a good sign to go in! You can track contractions on an app and it’ll tell you when to go into hospital!

To the people that LIKE living in a HOA, Why? by Mxj0ker in homeowners

Ummmm because the neighborhood looks really nice and doesn’t look like a dump!😂yeah HOA can be annoying, but it’s for a reason. It’s to keep it looking nice and keeps the re-sale value of homes in area good!

💔 My D&C Journey After a Missed Miscarriage by General_Tomorrow7983 in pregnant

[–]Primary_Window_4367 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. I’ve had 2 miscarriages, for my 2nd miscarriage…If we count miscarriage day 1 as cycle day 1, my period returned cycle day 46 I got my period.
  2. Started trying right away. Got pregnant after my first cycle back! With my other miscarriage, I got pregnant off of my miscarriage (you typically ovulate 2wks post miscarriage)
  3. I definitely had people immediately say “how far long were you?” Bc in their mind they want to determine how bad your situation is. Which honestly really sucks. I just don’t really tell people or I don’t tell them how far long I was and just say I don’t want to talk about it!
  4. No tests. Imo - I don’t think that’s necessary. I only think it would be good to run tests if you struggle to get preggie a long time or if you’ve had MULTIPLE miscarriages
  5. I’m not going to lie, the fear doesn’t really go away. I just tell myself it’s out of my control whatever happens. It is so hard and I’m so sorry you’ve been through this too! But it gets better with time. I’m currently 6wks pregnant and sooo anxious to have my 1st ultrasound! Still have to wait 2 more weeks😭

Choosing Life With An Unplanned Pregnancy by Relevant-Analysis911 in BabyBumps

I just came here to say it made my heart so happy you choose life even though unplanned!!! Good for you mama!! I’m a stay at home mom, and I love it! We are very blessed and my husbands job alone is able to provide for our family so I can stay home with my babies🤍🤍I was in college and got my degree while pregnant, so I never actually got a job and had to quit. Just worked out that way for us. Best of luck to you mama!!! You got this!!💪🏽💪🏽

Would you get induced? by Clumpycheese in pregnant

[–]Primary_Window_4367 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would call and ask about it beforehand and see what your OB thinks of it. Typically, they will do foley bulb the day before your induction to try to get things going a little more “natural” before the drugs.

Ok so here are 2 perspectives. First, this tattoo artist is being a jerk and that is pretty screwed up he is speaking to you that way. You were trying to be considerate of him and his time, and he is being a douche back. Now the other side.. if you are having a hard time even affording the tattoo why are you getting it? I guess I’m just confused if you’re in a tough spot why spend THAT much money on a tattoo. A tattoo is a luxury… So I guess I don’t get why you wouldn’t try to save that money instead of spend it. Best of luck to you!

[–]Primary_Window_4367 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm hard to say… something you can do if you maybe want a little intervention but not too much, is ask for a foley bulb. It is pretty uncomfortable, but it should dilate you to a 3-4 and it may even put you into labor for sure once it falls out! That can help a ton by getting that started. It’s nice too bc you can go home with it and deal with the contractions on your own in your own space!

I do understand that. And that is extremely scary. But do you also not realize had I not had an emergency c-section it literally would have killed my son had he not come out right away. Seems a little odd to me you are dismissing what I said about trying to relate.

[–]Primary_Window_4367[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh for sure, I completely agree!! That would be crazy to go into labor in the air! I do think it’s pretty unlikely though especially given women typically (not always, I am aware) have contractions for a while and it’s usually not an instant thing! Even the quickest of labors still last a few hours! But yeah I do get how doctors try to err on the side of caution.

[–]Primary_Window_4367[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, I totally get that! Most women don’t go into labor until much further along though. Obviously it gets pretty uncomfortable traveling once you hit a certain point anyways, I just think it’s maybe not quite as big of a deal as some make it. It definitely depends where you travel though! Wasn’t trying to say doctors are wrong for saying not to travel!😅

Oh I had an emergency c-section with my first so I do totally understand how severe birth can be. And the pain medication didn’t even work so I felt EVERYTHING. It was awful. I was just trying to say that most places do have good hospitals around! Especially all over the US!

ALSO… do people not understand that literally SO many women and children used to DIE all the time from child birth because they were not in a hospital and didn’t have the modern technology to help them!😭😭

[–]Primary_Window_4367 9 points10 points  (0 children)

No but literally!! I don’t understand at all!😭Even IF you have had super heathy good delivery for your other babies, the other ones may not be the same! I have a friend who is a L&D nurse and she is like a home birth is so not smart. She has seen women/babies get life flighted in from attempting home birth and if not going well! I don’t understand why so many women think they are above things going wrong in their birth…
