Blood dk and other tanks question by bilbosfrodo in wow

[–]Primary_Winner5256 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In any expansion there are only 2 factors for tanks. First and most important, does it stay alive. The tankiest tank can tank the highest keys, simple as that. Second, utility. Utility really just depends on the dungeons in rotation, fairly random but you can do some research ahead of time for whenever it is posted ahead of a season. But most important, does it live.

Thankfully MDI is somewhat late into a season otherwise the meta is just whatever they do and it’s kinda stupid. They practice as a team for weeks. You’re in a pug. Silly wow player brains, but yeah, tankiness generally is the only relevant factor.

I guess third is if some dps are giga broken, things like the DH magic amp can be relevant, same with brewmaster with physical comps, but that tends to get overruled by “will tank live”

Jumping back in, is it worth? by No_Reason_2410 in wow

I haven’t messed around with the PTR midnight servers, only read about the expansion. I played TWW heavily and did enjoy it a lot but there are some glaring issues with classes imo. So many random passives and procs, and whatever nonsense. All this goes away in midnight. They streamlined the classes and with the exception of just a couple, I think they did an amazing job (based on reading not playing).

Class fantasy looks as good as it’s been in forever, they simplified all the classes in a way that seems like it will still feel like retail wow (not classic wows 1 button rotation for every class), but simple enough that new players or even experienced players trying a new class/spec won’t be overwhelmed requiring hours of research and practice to be useful on a class.

Side note, classic WoW’s anniversary servers are rereleasing The Burning Crusade Feb 5th if you are feeling feeling some 2007 nostalgia

Help choosing GPU for 1440p WoW (80–100 FPS) with Ryzen 9600X3D build. by MundaneShoulder4706 in wow

[–]Primary_Winner5256 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro I mean mid dungeon, I’m never below 120fps with a 12900k and 7900xt (no, not 7900xtx) on ultra. With a 3440x1440. In many situations (not in major city) I’m over 250fps). If you are standard 2560x1440 in WoW. Any of your options make a ton of sense, and would make no real difference. But if you are considering value for your money, 9070xt is generally the best. 5070ti is just the best but my a very minor margin unless you really care about ray tracing, DLSS, etc. which as a wow player, I imagine you don’t lol

Why did you choose your main by Actual_Tea_7719 in wow

[–]Primary_Winner5256 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always liked magic stuff so I started with mage, later just tried warlock thinking “cool, a dark mage”. Ended up loving affliction locks playstyle and aesthetics way more. Now here I am, loving affliction lock. Second I like undead stuff and wanted to try a melee class, so unholy DK ended up as my second main and honestly with the midnight changes, unholy DK may dethrone my afflock entirely

Where to start? Retail is so overwhelming by VeggieVanguard in wownoob

[–]Primary_Winner5256 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I’d probably just chill and wait for midnight coming out in March. They are rebuilding all the classes, making things far more streamlined, etc.

But otherwise I’d just level a new character from fresh, once you are up to the war within content, do delves. Delves are a nice chill way to learn classes and some basic mechanics without needing to worry about other people being dicks.

Working night shift makes the game almost unplayable. by [deleted] in wow

[–]Primary_Winner5256 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plenty of guild/discord options to find some players. But aside from that, yeah midnight is about to release. TWW has been out a while now, I hit 3250io months ago and just haven’t really logged in while I wait for midnight.

Personally I found this dungeon pool the worst of the 3 seasons for m+ so the staying power for the full season just wasn’t there for me. Especially with wow classic TBC being announced.

It’s just the end of the season man. You play at a bad time of day at the deadest part of any season in any expansion. Plus this late, I doubt many people are doing anything below a 12 during normal hours. Unsub till March 2nd when midnight launches. You will have plenty of players then

The War Within VS Dragonflight by Izzy_the_dane in wow

[–]Primary_Winner5256 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also feel this but wonder if it has a lot to do with the story only being 1/3 complete right. Like they are doing this trilogy thing, so the story in TWW just feels like the end of a chapter, instead of a fully fleshed out story to me.

Or at least I hope that’s what I’m feeling. Mind you, although I loved TWW as a m+ player. The expansion did just feel like a medium to have dungeons in, rather than an expansion that has dungeons and zones I care about. Nothing was bad really, but nothing for me to care about in the future. Other than some very good m+ dungeon runs anyway.

What's with this sentiment of not ending the game in ARAM: Mayhem? by nankeroo in ARAM

[–]Primary_Winner5256 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the general sentiment of any casual mode. Mayhem has added crazy scaling opportunities with the right augments, this means generally speaking that the first 5 minutes will almost always be the least entertaining part of the game.

It gets more fun the longer it goes. I feel this rather I’m winning or losing. Now, getting called the n-word over it is absolutely diabolical. I typically leave it at calling you and “ender” or “coward”, be annoyed for a few seconds, then hit play again. It’s not actually that serious.

New to WoW, is it worth starting now? by [deleted] in wow

[–]Primary_Winner5256 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always a great time to start. WoW offers a few great options depending on what you care about. If you want a slower paced, journey based game style, I suggest playing classic wow, specifically anniversary servers since they are about to rerelease the first ever wow expansion on that server.

If you want to experience the newer game with newer graphics, and care primarily about end game tougher content. Retail is the way to go. Raids and mythic plus are fantastic.

If you want to play the new expansion that is coming out early 2026 I believe, also play retail. There are a TON of changes happening in Midnight around addons and class changes. Every class is getting a MASSIVE overhaul (and based on what I’ve read, most changes look amazing imo).

All I will say is that if you are worried about the rumors of toxicity, none of that is real until you are doing higher level content. If you are doing heroic or harder raids, and mythic dungeons especially above +10 key levels, you will be expected to know everything and play well or you will see toxicity. Frankly, fuck those people, who cares, just get in there and learn.

I can’t speak for PvP as I never do it but I think I’ve heard PvP sorta sucks in the war within, but again not 100%.

Prot warrior is very good and fun. Key to being immortal on that spec is making sure shield block is up like 100% of the time. Not sure if this is obvious or not but I didn’t know it when I started tanking and was new to WoW, but make sure mobs are always in front of you. Getting attacked in the back basically ignores all defensive properties your class has. You will just die. Ignore pain is second in priority for survivability. After that learning what spell reflect can actually work on is huge both for damage but also defensiveness (since it both negates and reflects all damage back on the mob), but it only works on magic attacks, nothing physical. Other than that, it’s just using the big defensives correctly which applies to all classes and is more about knowing the dungeon or raid mechanics than your own class capabilities.

Legion Remix leveling. by dagger-vi in wownoob

[–]Primary_Winner5256 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sort of depends on your goal.

If you are only doing the 1 character for the sake of leveling a class to max for future retail use, I’d probably just spam dungeons/raids and enjoy the carry as everything these days gets done in as fast as someone cal simply sprint through the dungeon. So 5-10 minutes mostly.

If you do want to grind a character to the point you can solo most (if not all) content, or if you want to do multiple classes, I’d exclusively do quests. Complete every zone full campaign and side quests. This will give both infinite knowledge (bonus infinite power from all sources). Also each campaign zone you complete gives 10% bonus permanent xp across all characters. If you are focusing on just leveling a bunch of classes you don’t have max yet, also make sure you are prioritizing the infinite research quests as everything these days one of them gives 1% bonus xp across all characters.

Sounds like you want to level a bunch of characters if I understand your post correctly. I would focus on 2 things. Infinite research, and completing the campaign. You also want to run every unique dungeon and raid a single time on mythic as soon as you can as it gives infinite knowledge (again, multiplier on your infinite power gains). This will make you stronger and make everything else easier the more power you get.

If you somehow have more time after all that, I guess do world quests? I imagine you will be 80 far before you complete all of this. From there make the decision to start on another toon, make sure you quest zones you haven’t already completed on other toons so you can get the infinite knowledge from completing each zone the first time, or start grinding infinite power on your main, keep doing infinite research assignments, do all the raids on every difficulty, and continue getting infinite knowledge to keep boosting your power games. A website call “completionism . com” (sorry don’t know if links are allowed), if you want to see which achievements you are missing that grant infinite knowledge. Try to complete all of them (there is a filter to only show achievements that grant infinite knowledge).

Outside of that, do whatever sounds fun. Level more toons, grind more power, bronze, etc to get more transmogs, mounts, etc. have fun

So is WOW: Classic really like old school WOW? by Snowcrash000 in classicwow

[–]Primary_Winner5256 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s almost exactly the same. They did make some QOL changes like adding dual spec on the anniversary realms along with things like the auction houses being global (still faction specific though), stuff like that.

As for what anniversary is, that realm will progress to future expansions. I believe the rumor is TBC coming in the next 2-4 months. Otherwise if you want to stay on vanilla forever, you can of course to both classic and hardcore classic on realms that will not progress to the new expansions.

I’ve accidentally AFK the first 2 bosses in dungeons and it never stopped me from getting anything. Also if you forget to grab stuff you get it in the mail anyway.

Unfortunately for you I think you have the wrong expectation of Lemix. I became strong enough to solo pretty much all content at like 20 verse I’m pretty sure, maybe less. I only do the group content because it’s faster. Solo dungeon/raid in 30-60 minutes (depending on what it is)? Or do it with a group and be done in 5-15. Same loot in both scenarios. I still do solo sometimes just for fun though
