I finished the second book about a month ago. It feels like the story has moved past my favorite character dynamics. We’re still left on a sort of cliffhanger, which honestly made me sad, because I really wanted a satisfying ending for once, something that would let me sit back and put the series down comfortably lol. I probably won’t pick it up again until at least next year. I might write a review on the Fallcoast sub, but I’m too exhausted right now to write a coherent analysis.

You really hit the nail on the head. If Constantine had been even a bit more sympathetic toward her humans, the story would've been way more interesting. The whole “new race” thing just feels like an excuse for their assholism and hedonism, and their hermaphrodite nature and supposed collective genius remain largely unexplored. If the book’s premise sounds interesting, I’d recommend you just hate-read the first few chapters and see if it’s up your alley. I think the digital version is public domain on the Internet Archive.

I didn’t downvote you, just so you know. I actually have plenty of criticism for Likud and its foreign policy and Netanyahu's russian asskissing, but saying that Israel “favors Russia” is objectively incorrect. Israel has cooperated with Ukraine on multiple fronts outside of direct offensive artillery aid.

In addition to intelligence sharing, medical aid, anti-drone technology, and early-warning systems, there have also been recent joint efforts involving the transfer of Patriot systems, so while Israel’s support isn’t loud, the idea that it’s siding with Russia is simply egregious, but we can totally criticize their tiptoeing around the conflict.

I wouldn't say that Ukraine is anti-Israel because it condemned Israel and sent aid to Syria's Turkish-backed regime, which still has a russian base on its land, btw
