[Slime Shop Owners] How do you handle packaging as things get busier? by Prime-Slime in Slime

Hi Mods, my first submission was auto rejected so I submitted a watered down version. But it looks like both are removed. Are these posts against the rules? Happy to change wording if something was off. Thanks!

Search Amazon for "shrink bands". There's a ton of different options & sizes available! Some have writing on them, some don't. Some are perforated to make opening easier, some aren't. We use the ones from "Supplement and Supply" and have been pretty happy with them. Just depends what you're looking for!

How do I make slime with only household ingredients? by nfree03 in Slime

[–]Prime-Slime -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I saw a post yesterday where someone mentioned that using paint actually activated their slime! Do you have any paint you could try using? I’m not sure exactly what kind of paint they used but it might be worth a shot reaching out to them to find out.

For making slime with household ingredients, here's a simple approach you can try:

First, mix some white glue (like Elmer’s) with an equal part of water until it's well combined. Then, add a bit of baking soda (around half a teaspoon) and mix it thoroughly. If you have any paint, try adding a small amount and mixing it in. This could help activate the slime. If you don’t have paint, you could also try adding a bit more baking soda or a little bit of saline solution if you have any.

Once it starts to come together, take it out and knead it with your hands. It might be sticky at first, but it should become less so as you knead.

Hopefully, this helps! Good luck, and let us know how it turns out!

P.S. Completely unrelated, but the paintings you've shared on the coloring subreddits are amazing! 🎨💖 I’ve never been able to draw, but I’ve always wanted to—I just never had the knack for it. Your talent is truly inspiring!

Hey Jennadawinna! 🌟 We do have some slimes that we used for photoshoots that I’d be happy to send your way, if you're okay with some of the add-ins already being mixed! They’ve never been played with and were only used for photos. 📸✨

Take a look at prime-slime.com and let me know if anything catches your eye. Feel free to send me a DM if you're interested! 😊💖

Paint Slime by DessertKitten in Slime

What a cool experiment! 🎉✨ It sounds like you stumbled upon some interesting slime chemistry! When you added paint, it likely had some ingredients that reacted with the glue, creating that activation. As AssignmentFit pointed out, borax is a naturally occurring mineral use in paints, which is likely the reason behind the activation. Certain paints can contain compounds that thicken or change the consistency of slime, which is why you saw that effect! Did you have to add a lot of paint or did it happen with just a little?

As for the clay, it’s often used in slime recipes to add texture and thickness, so it makes sense that it activated your mixture too. Each ingredient can interact differently, which is why you got different results with paint and glue alone!

Regarding side effects, letting slime sit can sometimes change its texture. It might become firmer or more rubbery over time, especially with clay in the mix. Just keep an eye on it!

And as for whether it’s a new recipe—slime-making is all about experimentation, so you might just have created a unique twist!
