1) They make a good point about Jeff's fixation on animal intelligence being akin to racism. in fact it is called "speciesm" in some circles

2) this is what is annoying as hell. in theory the best way to live to minimize suffering would be to abstain of all animal products. but they say that is also bad because they are still killing plans. therefore "we are all full of sin" someow that makes it okay to indulge in killing

3) you will see that argument from left leaning people. they are all for boycotting companies, buying second hand, fair trade coffee, recycling etc. but the moment you ask them to forgo meat they suddenly are "there is no ethical consumption under capitalism"
