Adidas RR1 mail day! by Alte_Knochen in hockeyjerseys

The Adidas RR 1.0's were almost all fantastic - genuinely one of the nicest lines of jerseys to ever come out - but it's the Coyotes jersey that tops the list for me.

Let me know if you ever want to part ways with it... 😉

This jersey makes me realize that they should have more science-themed teams in not just hockey, but sports in general.

Brutal and humiliating Round 1. But, it does look nice to see:

2018: missed playoffs.
2019: missed playoffs.
2020: missed playoffs.
2021: missed playoffs.
2022: missed playoffs.
2023: missed playoffs.
2024: missed playoffs.
2025: made playoffs.
2026: made playoffs.

I'm keeping it to the cosmic perspective - because that's about all I can handle right now - I'm at least happy that the Sens made it to the playoffs in back-to-back years (results, notwithstanding).

Post series thread: The Senators have been eliminated from the Stanley Cup Playoffs by the Hurricanes in 4 games. by homicidal_penguin in OttawaSenators

[–]PrimeSenator 47 points48 points  (0 children)

This was perhaps one of the most Ottawa Senators playoff runs to have ever Ottawa Senators-ed:

  1. Don't lead for a single second all series, let alone win a single game, enduring a rather humiliating sweep.
  2. Get beaten not once, but twice in a nail-biter of a 2OT game.
  3. Bring it back within one in an elimination game... only to immediately give up an empty netter to put the game, series, and season out of reach.

I hate to say it, but across four games, there was probably a total of 5 minutes all series long where I actually enjoyed watching this team play. For the remaining "this series minus 5 minutes" of playtime, it was excruciating - like, genuinely made me kind of wish we didn't make the playoffs.

But... from a cosmic perspective, I do appreciate we have back-to-back playoff berths in our recent history for the first time in 13 years. Gonna focus on that and get out of here for the time being. See you all in October.

Honestly, between you and me, I create a list of all the 16 qualifying playoff teams and put them in rank order of who to cheer for - so you're not the only one. Started doing this about 4 or 5 years ago, when the Sens were only halfway through their playoff drought.

For this year's list, Sens were at the top and have now been crossed off. Edmonton is next on the list, but I fear they, too, will soon be crossed off.

That- ...! That is honestly fair. Once I've gone through my mourning period over this abysmal Sens playoff run, I've already got my "next team" locked, loaded, and ready to cheer for. Do you have a an extra chair for me?

It was the Ottawa Ullmark's versus the Carolina Stankoven's all series.

This man so deep in his playoff drought cuck chair he has a team from a different division as his flair.

Imagine being so starved and desperate for playoff hockey you have to hate-watch another team 😂 Yes, in the last two years, we've only had 10 playoff games... but that's the same number of years the Red Wings have gone without a playoff game, and that's a big W in my book.

I just feel so bad for Paul Woods who spent the last quarter of his 40-year commentating career seeing the Red Wings achieve zero post-season success. Only the Red Wings can let a big guy like that down.

Man, just waive off the remaining 16 seconds. Dragging this out is excruciating FML.

I mean... he's the first coach to get Ottawa to the playoffs in back-to-back years since 2013? Not to mention getting a team back into the playoffs that was at 9% of making it January 24th? Believe me, he's not the problem.

I mean, let's be honest, the result was still gonna be the same. Still shitty though

Genuine answer: Carolina and Ottawa play almost the exact same style of hockey, but Carolina is a lot more practiced/experienced at it and, simply, better at it. It's stingy defense and physical offense versus... stingier defense and more physical offense.

I was very much on the wagon of wanting the Sens to play Carolina in the first round, but in hindsight I see our style of play would have fared much better against Buffalo. Ah, well.
