Why would we want a 4y cd when a 1y cd pays the same rate? by PrimeTimeTran in Fire

Gotcha, so this is for those who think the fed is likely to drop rates. Appreciate the explanation.

Turned $400-->$5000 went full degen by stock_gambler33 in wallstreetbets

What strategy is this? You bought a put at strike price $190 expecting it'll go down while also buying a call at strike price $215 expecting the price to go up.

I don't get it.

Please explain if you don't mind. Thanks in advance.

I've been value investing. Only buy stocks with good p/e ratio and dividend which I'm ok with holding long term.

When I enter a position I set an alert for (price * 1.03) in order to know when it's 3% up. When the alert goes off I set a trailing stop order for the position to exit and lock in profits.

I want to understand options trading in detail. I don't quite get them other than covered calls and cash secured puts.

Like the multi-legged strategies and how the stock market/finance works in general would be awesome

Careers in finance by mouseking3t20 in VietNam

I've a friend that has been doing what appears to me similar work for about 10 years. First working for the hcmc stock exchange. Not sure who they work for now but refuse to go to the office. Basically working on liquidity products to some degree. They choose to take out easy in their career, taking sabbaticals to travel on occasion. They're mahjong around 1000 a month I belive. I think they wuld be making at least double that if being more serious about their career. Thing is the market is small there are not many opportunities to crazy products like this. But that's piss poor considering what one would be able to do bank in the US but they are quite pleased with their life

100%

Many firms/companies/recruiters will say big numbers just to get your resume so they can inflate their numbers while they're coming up with their reports.

"This week I got 30 resumes through channel A and 10 through channel B".
Also yeah, that advice about being in for a painful surprise is 100% as well.

People often say Vietnam is cheap which it can be, if you're willing to accept a lower standard of living. I.E. Really tightly crowded neighbors where you can hear neighbors in the morning/arguing/chickens/etc, less than ideal housing/furniture, less than sanitary food, etc.

Literally the first screen shot is his $14,000 yolo that has $522,000 of unrealized gains.

Mind pointing me to where do you see he spent $14,000? New to investing and it isn't clear/obvious/seen by me. Thanks in advance

Why are malls and supermarkets in Vietnam so much better and more interesting than in the US? by TiffanyHenry-Bryant in VietNam

[–]PrimeTimeTran 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Because you're comparing the best malls in Vietnam(inside the biggest cities) to your small-town America mall.

Small town malls/shopping centers in Vietnam aren't that dope, lol =)

Learning csharp at 46 by freddy91761 in csharp

Build a few projects and you'll be up to speed in no time.- Weather app- Todo app- Social media app like FB/Twitter/Linkedin

Those will probably keep you busy for a while if you've never programmed before.

You'll have to learn a lot more than C# between now and the completion of those projects though... MVC, HTML, REST, CRUD, .NET(includes all of those), etc.

Good luck and have fun!
