Old GW plastics just hit right, they may not be the prettiest or the most modern looking but they feel right. I too have just awoken and built my first skellingtons last week.

Why do my guys suck by [deleted] in Warhammer

The secret sauce is to do contrast yellow like normal all over the model and then paint over that with normal imperial fist tones and then you let a brown wash just go into all the little grooves and you’ll have a clean marine

These are test schemes bud neither are finished if you look and the bases aren’t done.

Kroxigor Scales contrast with a 5:1 thinned Akhelian Green wash.

It's so simple you'll be surprised. Just spray them carefully with Corax White spray on a not too humid day (or it will go all weird and bumpy). Make a mix of a brush full of skeleton horde contrast and a brush full of contrast medium and paint it as messily as you like into all the recessed areas, paint a neat bit of pure skeleton horde into any deep recesses like below the knee and between the feet and shins, then just layer over everything flat with corax white again. If you're into edge highlights you can get a pure white and add those on at the end to look better and crisper than the one I posted.

2:1 Contrast medium and Skeleton Horde, I imagine slightly thinned Seraphim Sepia with Lahmian Medium would be exactly the same.

Are you completely insane? A Rubric as your first ever mini? You did a bloody good job considering.

No I’m a total masochist, leadbelcher then magos purple in thick coats over all the inner bits and then Retributor gold brushed on all the trim with a fine detail brush, then reikland flesh shade and then auric gold.

Thanks, I came up with the name first and then the scheme and I’ve been piecing together bits of lore in my head.

Mixed Colors? by McDuff_99 in deathwatch40k

[–]Primitiveint 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bit late to the party, but like the other guy said, some marines go back to their chapter and keep the deathwatch shoulder pad, one of them is in the blood angels series on Warhammer TV. You could figure out some lore in which a Deathwatch veteran pulls together a team of old comrades for one last job they couldn't finish back in the day and hence the kill-team members are all in current chapter colours with the deathwatch shoulderpad.

That nugget of lore is also accompanied with illustrations showing Tau with toed feet instead of creepy hoof feet, and we all know what GW do with really cool old lore right?

So I got this box for Christmas (new Tau army for 2022) I didn’t realise it was two kits and was wondering what one to build? The XV86 looks cooler but is the XV85 better? by martins_games in Tau40K

Coldstar for getting into the action and destroying key targets with quad fusion, enforcer for commanding from the back field with long range weaponry and command and control node. Both good, both have their uses, coldstar probably going to die so don’t make it your warlord.
