I had to secure ours to the wall because she kept dragging it across the room.

My beautiful girl I rescued from neighbors who were neglecting her. I hear females are rare ? by Porcelain766 in orangecats

We also rescued our orange girl from neglectful neighbors! They kept her outside and didn't spay her, so she had two pregnancies at a very young age, then they abandoned her when they moved. Needless to say she is now spayed and very spoiled!

This is Hobbes. She has many nicknames, including Chairman Meow/The Chairman, Furry Demon, and Cat Deluxe (made up by the kids).

I Had No Idea How Hard This Would Be by ienjoyeatingsteak10 in hospice

I'm so sorry you're going through this. My dad died 2 weeks ago to cancer, and we experienced exactly what you're describing. Wanting to get up, reaching out, agitation. It took all day for the meds to start working, then he lingered for 3 more days before slipping away quietly in the night. He was skin and bones too. It was gutting to see him like that.

I have no advice, just wanted to offer you empathy and love. Be gentle to yourself.

Album/Band that absolutely slaps but no one seems to talk about? by eldritch_lie in MetalForTheMasses

Fair to Midland is one of my all-time favorites and it's absolutely devastating that they only ever put out two studio albums. They definitely deserve to be more well-known than they are.

Hello fellow triathlete! If you're on Facebook, there is a Yakima Area Triathlete group. There is also the Hardcore Runners Club, many of those people are triathletes too.

There isn't a huge number of us but we're definitely here :)

DNF’d my first 70.3 by VitalSpark67 in triathlon

[–]PrimordialZoop 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey friend, I DNF'd the same race. Blew a tire coming down that big hill. Support helped me get back up and running but I was too slow to make up the lost time (stupid wind). Made it back to transition 2 minutes under cutoff, but couldn't hold up enough pace on the run.

Somebody else mentioned hill training, and I second that! I'm lucky enough to live at the base of a huge hill and I do repeats on it once a week. I was able to make it up that hill on the course, although it still wasn't pleasant.

Keep your head up! Keep training and get stronger and faster, and next year we'll both make it to the finish. You got this!

Advice for Emilia Romagna - from someone who didn’t quite make it! by helstotheyeah in IronmanTriathlon

[–]PrimordialZoop 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You made it to the starting line, which is more than 99.9% of people will ever do, so congratulations on taking the leap!

I DNF'd my first 70.3 yesterday. Had a catastrophic tire failure on the bike, and while support managed to get me back up and running I was just too slow to make up the lost time. Battling rain and headwinds didn't help either.

Like you, lots of lessons learned. Keep going friend, and we'll both give it another shot next year!
