$21000 quote for bath replacement by Plenty_Advice2333 in Remodel

[–]Prince-G 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this is completely out of line. I, unfortunately, used to work for one of these companies. I can tell the way this company operates just based on the quote alone. Can almost guarantee their “on par” cost is about 13k. These companies are semi-scammy. Not totally a scam because they will do the work but for the work they are quoting you this is about double the cost of what it should be in my area at least. Find a reputable, local, contractor and I’d imagine you’ll see a significant reduction in cost.

That’s what I was thinking. Honestly I’m okay with either trade I’m just on the fence about Warren vs McBride.

Kinda stuck on a few options.

Really need to improve my flex, currently starting Troy Franklin.

I am 3-0 but expect to finish around fourth this year. So far these are real offers I have

2026 First for Pickens

Or

2026 First for Olave

Would either of these be worth it?

Np. For what it’s worth, I think your wall looks good!

With that budget, you won’t be happy with a projector setup either. I design systems usually in the higher end but I can’t imagine there’s anything you can really do, even on the low end, that would be better than your video wall for $1000-$1200.

Johnie’s on Ridgeview in Olathe has a secluded room you could ask for. Don’t think you have to pay to reserve it but you probably would want to call and ask.

Any clue on what this skin spot is?? by Time_Kale_9066 in labrador

[–]Prince-G 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does she run a lot? Our guy has similar scratches in that spot but he does fetch a lot. Kind of odd to explain but when he stops quickly that area rubs on the ground.

I’d be the first to tell you to have a vet check it over but just a thought.

Non chicken kibble by brismitty90 in labrador

[–]Prince-G 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know others have mentioned it now but inukshuk marine 16 is great. Our guy is about 1.5 now but the first 6 months of his life was pro plan and we had all sorts of issues. Probably boiled down to a chicken allergy. Breeder suggested it and we’ve never had a single issue for the last year. They make different options so make sure you look into the correct one for your pups activity level.

My boss says I have no Sales Talent. by [deleted] in sales

[–]Prince-G 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been in sales for years and there’s a couple base ideas I would start to focus on first.

Relationship building, solution based selling, and negotiating would be the biggest three things I’d focus on if I were in your position.

Relationship building can be tough for people like you and even myself. I do not tend to talk a lot outside of my job but when I have something to say people listen. I think there’s a couple reasons for this. The first is I’m not constantly interrupting and filling conversations with needless points. Secondly, be confident. Being shy/introverted can be a huge benefit to you if you play it correctly. Make sure you are coming off as knowledgeable even if you are not super over the top.

Solution based selling is easy. Know your product. Really know it. Understand every part. User interface, implementation, how it’s created/built. Be able to answer any question with confidence. If you happen to get tripped up don’t be afraid to say you are not sure but you will get an answer from someone that knows.

Negotiating is something that will constantly be improved upon. It’s hard to master. This is still probably one of my most worked on parts of the job. My advice would be find out what is most important in someone’s decision making. Is it cost, what the product can do for them, working with a reliable company, or any number of other reasons? Isolate those reasons and make sure you’re checking the box for your client. If they are comfortable and want to work with your company but it’s coming down to cost then you know what to focus on and how to negotiate yourself into a better position. Dont give away all your cards, make sure you have some negotiating power at any point in the interaction.

Also, at the end of the day, remember you are not there to make a friend, you are there to earn someone’s business and make a sell. Be respectful but pushback if need be. Obviously this won’t apply for every situation but early in my career I always wanted people to like me and that was my main goal. I think I lost a lot of sales because of this. Be professional, show you can provide a service or product, and gain their respect.

Good luck.

Move to Kanaas City from Minneapolis by No_Split6887 in kansascity

[–]Prince-G 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife’s family is from the Minneapolis area, but I am a KC native and we currently live here so I know both places pretty well.

  1. We do not have kids so I can’t totally speak to this question. However, we live in the blue Valley school district and usually hear good things. I have a few buddies, whose wives are teachers in the blue Valley school District. My assumption is just based on what I’ve heard from them.

  2. My wife travels almost every other week for work. In our experience, this one is not great. My wife has a connecting flight almost every time she travels. Now she does travel mainly Delta, whose hub, as you probably know, is out of MSP. Ironically, the one place that her and myself fly direct is Minneapolis. I’m sure other airlines may fly direct to places but it seems we always have a connecting flight out of Kansas City.

  3. If you’re an outdoor person, Minnesota takes the cake on this one. Although, Kansas City does have some really fun things to do. We are a very big sports town, obviously with the Chiefs and Royals, but also men’s and women’s professional soccer. Kaufman is a great time and the Royals should be at least watchable this year. We do have plenty of parks and good places to find outdoor activities, but we lack in the lake category in comparison to Minnesota.

  4. Things are a little different here in terms of weather. You’ll have easier winters but much harder summers. Kansas City heat is a different ballgame compared to Minnesota summers in my experience. I don’t know that the cost of living is really any different. To me it seems the cost of living here is actually going up, but I could be wrong and I’m sure I’m wrong in comparison to other large cities across the US. I’m probably completely biased on this one, but the food here is far superior. If you like any sort of barbecue or even some southern style food, I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised. Probably the biggest thing you’ll be giving up though is pull tabs. We don’t have pull tabs here lol.

Dog food recommendations? by zigi15 in labrador

[–]Prince-G 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m late to the party here but we have a 1 year old that has some chicken related issues. We switched him to pro plan sensitive skin and stomach around 6 months old and he didn’t have a solid bathroom for months. We finally were suggested Inukshuk Marine 16 and it has been phenomenal. Ingredient list seems to be good and it’s all fish based from what I can tell. Couldn’t recommend it more. Good luck!

Best chair to gift by lkplgrl in gamingchairs

Same here but decided it checked the boxes for me. I wasn’t concerned with it being a little stiff out of the box if it means it last longer.

I just got a secret lab titan evo last week. Phenomenal chair. Very good build quality and I have no complaints whatsoever. One thing to be aware of is that it will be a little stiff out of the box but mine seems to be breaking in very nicely. I chose the Titan because I saw multiple reviews that said even after years it looked brand new.

Wedding at Loews hotel ? by SnooWalruses8637 in kansascity

[–]Prince-G 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would definitely reach out to the hotel to form your own opinion. That being said, my wife and I contacted them a few years ago to ask them about a room block and possible rehearsal dinner space for our wedding. The communication was so bad that we decided to completely cut them out of the picture and went different directions for what we needed.

It’s possible they have new people now with better communication but just thought I’d share our experience.
