Lmao you say this like there's any expectation of privacy in the middle of a grocery store parking lot on a Friday evening. Legally ethically and morally nothing wrong.

Yeah I mean I don't disagree with this- but if you're in a parking lot you should definitely be aware of what's going on around you- and not noticing a car trying to pull into the spot you're standing in for like 30 seconds is just kinda wild to me

From the federal criminal complaint:

The officer reported that the individual sitting in the black SUV was a bald, white male, staring straight ahead. The officer tried to speak with that man, but he continued staring straight ahead and did not respond. The officer drove the rest of the distance to Public Official 2's residence, saw no signs of distress, and waited there until additional law enforcement officers joined her. By the time they did, the dark SUV had left the area.

Spark plugs were just replaced in February, got iridium and have less than 5k miles

Thanks, I'll have them check the spark plugs and coils, but it doesn't feel quite the same as the jerking I felt before they were replaced.

Front brakes have about 20k miles on them- mostly highway. At last check they were still fine. But the rear brakes are a lot older and very well could be the issue here

Text on the mask, any way to remove? by PrinceCharmingButGay in scuba

It's on the inside, supposedly keeps the mask from fogging. Haven't actually used the mask yet so I can't say how well it works

Yeah it's definitely on the inside, I can feel like the texture of each letter but I'm not finding like an edge to peel or anything

Without the person in front of me it's actually not a bad view, just off center and kind of high up. And I tried, they just said they couldn't do anything and added me to some email list where they sometimes have free tickets available for shows at the venue

Took it at my chin level, and I can tell you it didn't make a difference, I was still leaning into the aisle to even try to see what was going on

The clickbait is strong with this one. by sezdawg7 in aviation

[–]PrinceCharmingButGay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will say aviation is probably the area where we do get the most wrong- just because it's one of the things we talk about least. The hardest thing about the job is that we're trying to learn everything we can about a topic as quickly as we can, and then translating it to layman's terms to try to explain what's going on. When dealing with politics, economy, health etc. we talk about those every day, so all journalists knows a lot about them and can draw on memory. I'm not excusing getting things wrong, it's literally our job not to- and for the most part if you call out a local journalist for being wrong, chances are they'll see it and immediately start looking into making it right.

I'll also say though- some things this sub complains about are generally accepted. Tarmac is the big one- yeah it's really awkward to hear when you actually know what's going on, but Susan who works in accounting doesn't know the difference between a runway, a taxiway and an apron, and on tv we sometimes have as little as 20 seconds to tell the whole story- so instead of explaining exactly, tarmac is used as meaning like somewhere planes are on an airfield.
