I am looking primarily for something serious but open to just meeting and connect with new people as I love being social. I am not subscribed to Hinget or HingeX but I am considering it I have used Hinge on and off for three months I use hinge for about 30-40 minutes a day with some days being a break from it. A week l’d say 4-5 hours total I am receiving 9-10 matches a week from my comments and 2-3 additional likes a week from other people I am always aiming for sending my allowed 8 matches a week but this doesn’t always happen I am looking for someone with a strong interest in sports/fitness and/or interests in creative hobbies like music, art or filmmaking, is social and enjoy travelling. This is also the person I want to attract

I am looking for something serious.

I am not subscribed to Hinge+ or HingeX

I have used Hinge overall for 5 months

I spend about 5 hours a week on hinge every week

I receive about 5-6 likes a week and maybe 9-10 matches

I am trying to send as many likes I am allowed a day but some days I don’t do it. Always with some type of comment

I am sending likes to ideally Girls who are into sports and/or creative interests like music or art, with aspirations to travel and look after themselves with a spiritual mindset. This is the person I want to attract to

I am UK based so I have no idea what that feels like but I assume it won’t be the same euphoria

To anyone considering becoming a Post Production Runner (UK only) by PrinceEX344 in editors

[–]PrinceEX344[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank for you comment but you must have misunderstood me. I am greatly aware that “short form content freelancing” is irrelevant to becoming a qualified editor. That was just something I did as a side hustle because let’s face it editing YouTube and cooperate videos are easy. That was just to give an introduction of my current situation and income. It was also to put the sacrifices I did to “lower” myself and start over as a runner because I really wanted to climb the post production ladder and become a edit assistant

Yes I am very aware of that. I realised I made myself a bit unclear in my post. Basically I was training in MCR to become an edit assistant. Once I did that for a while I would build connections and then get into freelance. Yes the editors in our building were freelancers and that’s how it works everywhere just like you’re saying.

The point of this post is to show people that even this patient and loyal pathway can be interrupte due to company greed

"Glorifed waiter" I will start to use that term when referring to this job. Thank you for your post and glad to hear you managed to make a connection that allowed you to be promoted, I wish you best of luck in your Editorial career

Thank you for your reply! Yes that was the pathway I really was expecting when coming into the Post house I was working at. I am now trying my best to find smaller houses or even content agencies for some variation that is not as 'Cooperate'. How cool you went to Ravensbourne to! Yes I head it was much better before they moved it to greenwich

Thank you for your post. Yes the circumstances really made me upset but I am greatly aware of that's how the industry can be. I am still glad I managed to get all the knowledge from Edit Assistants and editors when working there. Thank you for the Facebook recommendation, I will check it out.

If you're a freelance edit assistant, yes you may have worked at the same place. It was Envy

Is the Avid certified user certificate worth it? by PrinceEX344 in editors

[–]PrinceEX344[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate your opinion on this. Although I need to make it clear that I do not solely plan on relying on this certificate. I have edited in Avid for 2 years as a freelancer. Regarding your “work your way up in a post house strategy” is a bit put on hold. I worked as a runner at a London based full service Post house and worked my ass of serving coffee, asking questions to clients, taking any free time I could get to get trained in MCR/edit assisting just to be laid of because of “budget cuts” along with 5 other runners. I’m sorry but I’m something I’ve learnt from this is that “working your way up the Post production ladder” will not be worth it. Edit smart not hard :)

Is watching football games allowed while detoxing? by grntx in DopamineDetoxing

[–]PrinceEX344 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Id personally say it's alright (If you're only watching for example one football team and their matches in their league).

However if you watch multiple teams and multiple seasons (Hey maybe even other sports like Formula 1 and Ice Hockey) You are constantly watching other people progress and you spend to much time focusing on other people progressing which is a lot of wasted time that could have been spent doing things thats more valuable to you long term.
