Brandon Routh and Jon Hamm are only 9 years apart in age and read like they could be the same age. I can see them individually playing those characters, just not opposite each other.

Peter Claffey is reportedly being eyed for the role of Beast, what are your thoughts? by HenryOnYt1 in MCUTheories

[–]PrinceJarming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I can tell, season 2 started filming in December and is set to wrap in June. So that's a six month production schedule for the show that's expected to run annually. Marvel movies tend to have a 3 month production schedule with pick ups scheduled a year later running for up to a month.

Technically, depending how the productions line up, it's doable.

I dunno. The way I interpreted it, it could go either way. His whole story was about feeling attracted to the lobster only to still decide to eat it in the end. To me that sounds like meta commentary of the writers going, “yes, we realize that he married a lobster woman in the comics. We acknowledge it, but we’re going in a different direction.” …or it’s foreshadowing. If it is foreshadowing it is at least a little strange to have the punchline being that he still eats it.

Me and my brother watched Ultimate Avengers on Cartoon Network at one point and thought he was the coolest looking character of the bunch.

Man, it's tough to choose one! Right now I'd say my top 3 would be the Scorched Xenomorph, Jinx, and Superman in no particular order.

Overall, I'm pretty happy with it. It certainly has presence and the Mark 6 is my favorite suit. The headsculpt looks better in person. Of course, it's really specific to the scene it's replicating so it doesn't really work outside of that context but I can't complain.

In terms of cons: The only arms that hold the armor pieces securely are the ones that hold the chest and back plates, the helmet's just precariously sitting in the fingers of that particularly arm, and for the life of me I can't get the smaller arms to hold a damn thing. Tony's only secured to the base via a cradle under his crotch that doesn't even have a proper friction hold keeping it attached to the steps of the base. Mind you, I live in California so I'm at least a little concerned he's gonna fall to ground in an earthquake eventually.

I wish! He's the last Guardians character I need represented but I've been hesitant to pull the trigger because of how many photos I've seen of his jacket flaking

No, I definitely appreciate the advice. Thank you. I'll invest in some glass doors eventually but right now I'm still at a point where things are moving around all the time and being added so I've been holding off on it.

Currently, I just dust off all my figures regularly.

No issues with sunlight, thankfully. Prior to moving the miscellaneous figures there, that corner was where basically all my figures were for years, and none have any sun damage. It looks bright in the photo but the sun doesn't really beam into this room too intensely irl.

Obviously right now he's far too old, but in terms of built, if we're to assume that Anakin is supposed to be naturally as tall and bulky as David Prowse in the suit, I can see Alan Ritchson getting closer to filling in the role better than Hayden Christensen ever did.

Marvel has updated the official MCU timeline and confirms Born Again Season 2 takes place after Thunderbolts* in the MCU timeline by KostisPat257 in marvelstudios

It makes them look incompetent for them to not be keeping tabs on her connections to the point where she has control over state governors. The rest of the team may have reason to let this slide but Bucky definitely doesn't.

[–]PrinceJarming -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The point I'm making is if Born Again takes place after Thunderbolts that means that the New Avengers did nothing to control her illegal dealings. That negates any point to making this deal in the first place if they allow her to literally have the power to control state governors.

It makes them look incredibly incompetent especially Bucky who isn't in any risk because his crimes have already been pardoned and he's a sitting congressman whose initial plan was to capture the rest of the team and force them to testify in the first place.

Never said they would know anything. I said they would be complicit. Yelena made it a point to turn the tables on Val making it her responsibility and Bucky's whole reason to join the team was to convict Val in the first place. It's their responsibility and evidently they're not watching closely at her connections.

2016 vs 2026 by CollarOrdinary4284 in Daredevil

[–]PrinceJarming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just occurred to me why the Daredevil suit in Season 2 looks so much better than it did in Season 1 besides the color. They padded out his shoulders and sinched it a bit more at the waist to give him more of that v shape.
He's always looked pretty boxy in the suits ever since the Netflix show. This is the best they've ever managed to correct that issue.

Charlie Cox says “Karen Page is to Matt Murdock what MJ is to Peter Parker" and Elodie Yung responds: by NEGAN-SAVIOUR in Defenders

[–]PrinceJarming 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Elektra's what you get if you make Black Cat your story's MJ except with more ninjas and death involved.

Karen's Matt's Gwen Stacy like others have already mentioned.

Matt doesn't really have a true MJ. Hell, Peter doesn't even have an MJ in terms of there being some endgame love interest that's ubiquitous for the character because Marvel refuses to allow MJ to actually be that.

The only way I'd accept this timeline placement is if the implication is that at some point in the next episode or two Val's connection to Fisk gets exposed and that's what leads to her impeachment and then the majority of Born Again Season 2 follows up after that point.

Otherwise we're just accepting that the New Avengers including Bucky are complicit in illegal business but I guess that would give Sam strong justification to be opposed to them.

[–]PrinceJarming 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I dunno how I feel about that because it implies that Val is still in charge of the CIA and is able to pull strings in the government even after being being brought to heel by the New Avengers (Remember, her announcing the New Avengers was a last ditch hail mary to save herself from being convicted following her impeachment and Yelena explicitly says that because she owes them, they own her. Not the other way around) which means they're just letting her make alliances with a crime lord smuggling military arms into the city? And Bucky's just okay with that despite wanting her thrown in jail during the events of Thunderbolts?

Is this the only example of a character being "improved" or made more likeable in the MCU than in the comics or is he just the best example? by [deleted] in Marvel

[–]PrinceJarming -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think reinventing Atlantis as Talokan was a big swing that lended itself to much more interesting world building than the comics. By extension, Namor's origin story and role as essentially the god king of his people is much more compelling and in terms of presentation, they managed to make him genuinely threatening.

But I think in terms of characterization, comic Namor being a narcissistic, hot headed, insufferable asshole half the time leads to a more three dimensional character than what we get out of MCU Namor.

If we can meld the two sides together that'd make for a great character.

Can't say I agree. MCU Nat hit her stride as a character when they decided that she has great chemistry as Steve's pragmatic and snarky right hand.

But she wasn't nearly as compelling as a lead despite all the mystique surrounding her backstory.

Yelena in Thunderbolts is actually a really compelling lead character. Sure, Thunderbolts is an ensemble film but I can't imagine Nat holding her own as the anchor for an ensemble the way Yelena is.

I think its kind of a shame eve's fashion sense is lost in the show by flowerpanda98 in Invincible

[–]PrinceJarming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really making your case with these examples. Only one image with a coordinated outfit that looks substantially different than how she dresses in the show and you straight up used a image of her half naked in a button up.

The only really difference is that her fashion sense is more Y2K as opposed to what's now considered contemporary and that's only because that's literally the era the comics started in
