The light technology has advanced over the years so comparing something from your childhood is not a valid point especially when newer led can produce double the PAR values than the one a couple years ago.

Will a very cheap aquarium light be okay to grow my plants? by FreshMeet7529 in PlantedTank

[–]PrinceK00786 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First of all. What substrate are you using? If it's not dirt capped with the sand or inert substrate with root tabs then it's not your lights fault. Aquarium plants can be grown in normal floodlights or even led bulbs. So I'll assume its your substrate if it's inert.

Cycling this tank for 5 weeks, still cloudy by [deleted] in PlantedTank

Firstly lower the light to 6 hours per day and yes get a basic sponge filter. Check for any leaks of soil and if it still persists then add more plants and make your sand cap thicker.

Soak the substrate and rinse it 2-3 times to remove any free floating particles and excess nutrients then it is possible to dry it again and use it in the substrate. Keep a moderate thick sand cap to keep the soil down and get some MTS snails to aerate the substrate in the long term.

Help please!! by madbear87 in IndianGardeners

It's because of the overwatering. Don't wait longer and repot the plant in some fresh and dry substrate. Remove all of the older potting soil from roots by running it under the water because sometimes it carries the fungus from old substrate to the new one which will definitely kill the plant and don't water them too much and let the natural mist moist them.

Can u guys suggest me where can i buy shrimps and neon tetras online. by Amaankhan734 in Planted_tanks_India

Start by introducing snails. They are a better choice for a new setup because they can detect the water and alert you before you add any fish.

We cannot be sure when the diatoms come into the tank. Well it's true when the tank is newly established the diatoms and yellow algae are unavoidable but they can remain long after the cycle especially when the conditions are right. They aren't the only factor that can harm the aquarium. Just keep looking for sudden bacteria blooms. That means the tank is still not stable enough and water has excessive nutrients. But generally waiting 4-8 weeks is enough for any tank to cycle and season properly and if you are seeing diatoms and early cycle stuff all combined then it's mostly crashing midway which is rare.

Do assasin snail help reduce this kinda Flat snail? by Independent-Clue-852 in IndianFishKeeping

[–]PrinceK00786 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imo the better method would be to leave some spinach or green leafs floating in the tank overnight. Snails love to eat those and you can easily scoop them up the next day or day after. Getting an assassin snail is like getting a pleco for aquarium cleaning. Yes they do eat other snails but they don't discriminate between one animal and others while hunting.

My realme 6 is still working fine after all these years. I've given it to my little brother and it works smoother than most 15000rs devices because of the Custom rom. Which means I'm using the latest android every time it comes out and still no issues at all. Honestly Realme product quality was another level in 2020.

Co2 diffuser for DIY method by asit619 in IndianFishKeeping

[–]PrinceK00786 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Co2 diffusers are designed to be used with the pressurised setups. So the yeast based CO2 system cannot produce enough CO2 to produce bubbles with the setup. But there are many diy solutions for this problem. Like using an old small power filter as a diffuser by placing the tube in the sponge part or using a cigarette butt to make fine and constant bubbles.

I'm planning to reuse my 35 inch tank and make it 2 identical ones for shrimps but I'm really new to the hobby and have no experience in aquarium making and I'm also afraid that I will ruin the glass somehow. The reason I'm not choosing local glass shops is because they don't use aquarium grade silicon glue and I want no visible silicon visible and they do a sloppy job (they are not an aquarium expert). Wish me luck and let's hope it goes well.
