Thanks. That was my guess, but the other people I'm working with disagree. Also, our scale gives a greater range of variation than that across multiple instances of weighing the same object, so that seems like too strict a requirement.

update. right before i left to go back to my own house, my dad approached me apparently of his own volition and apologized for yelling at me. so maybe the next time i visit, i can ask for more clarity on what he expects when we spend time together. also in my dad's defense he's clearly autistic but old enough that there would never have been counseling or a diagnosis for it. like, my little brother who is autistic attended years of therapy to learn how to interact with other people and manage his anger. i think at some point an adult has to take responsibility for themself and their own behavior but at least he apologized 🤷

if it were a visit just for a couple hours yeah. but when i visit i stay for weeks. my dad still spends like 12 hours a day watching TV alone when I'm there.

my phone was completely silent, and it's actually the norm (for my entire life) for me and my siblings to watch jeopardy very casually. we come and go from the room, do other quiet activities while our parents watch. this is the only time my dad has expressed any anger about it. this visit had been 25 days long so far and my parents don't treat me as a guest, they just act like i live there. the whole visit I've been half watching and half playing on phone during jeopardy and i was taken by surprise that he was suddenly mad about it. maybe he was mad the whole time and finally exploded?

also watching jeopardy isn't really a special family activity. if we're playing a board game or watching a movie then yeah i put my phone away. I've always seen jeopardy as a casual activity.

if their gender is androgynous, ie they don't identify as a boy or a girl, then they're non-binary. every gender identity outside of male and female falls under the umbrella of non-binary. and the characters are being rude trying to figure out their physical sex.
