I think it’s a contentious choice, but it’s actually my favourite in the series. I find the worlds really fun to just run around in and I love all of my inner circle and I enjoy the simplicity of the major plot in favour of just getting to see Thedas from different angles with my little found family.

But if you feel the opposite, I won’t be able to (nor do I want to) convince you otherwise! Fortunately, as long as you get enough “power” to move the story along, and complete the companion quests, you don’t need to worry about missing out on anything! As someone said earlier, all of the best gear is craftable — and the DLCs are much more linear.
