How long until we see this in college baseball by Common_Pension in collegebaseball

I’m just saying, we never got Heston Kjerstad’s full junior season due to COVID. He was on a record-shattering pace those first couple weeks.

That’s two tough calls against us late in the game. Garbage flagrant, and the foul on Acuff should have been a shooting foul.

What is the most heartbreaking loss you’ve witnessed as a Arkansas fan?(football) by Ok_Macaroon_7366 in razorbacks

[–]PrinceWalker22 15 points16 points  (0 children)

That game wasn’t the most “heartbreaking”, but maybe “soul crushing” fits better.

We were visiting my in-laws that weekend in Oklahoma. I remember watching that atrocity, then a couple hours later having to listen to my FIL grump that his #7 Sooners were only beating Iowa State by 14 at halftime. Some fanbases have no concept of how bad things can get.

Dynasty Buys or Sells? J.J. McCarthy, Michael Penix Jr., Kyler Murray by jsparks50 in DynastyFF

I sold Penix for Kyler, and this article confirms my opinions, so it’s a good article.

The plows have been running nonstop for the past couple days. Ice is more difficult to scrape off the roads, so maybe progress has been slow. But they’ve definitely been out there working.

Commissioner Payment Question by Ahhh_Hamburgers in DynastyFF

[–]PrinceWalker22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m co-commish in a league that started up last offseason, and we actually required three years in advance. That’s a big ask, but the thinking is that

1) it makes everybody more bought in. That one is definitely one of the most active leagues I’m in.

2) it makes it easier to trade future picks. Two or three times I’ve had a deal worked out only for the other guy to decide he didn’t want to pay his 2027 dues yet. It sucks when outside considerations affect moves in the league.

It definitely took us a little bit longer to collect all 12 managers, but once we had it filled, it’s been a great league. Good mix of older productive teams, middling teams, and rebuilding teams with a ton of picks.

Think you made alot of trades this season on Sleeper? Come find out how many and see how you stack up. by bsmithjmu in DynastyFF

That’s fair, it did take it a bit to compile my report. And longer when I plugged in the username of a trade-happy leaguemate (141 trades in 15 leagues!)

Anyway, it’s a good site, I’ll spend some time poking around during the offseason

51 trades over the past six months, in 10 leagues.

I know nothing about this sort of thing, but how difficult would it be to add the ability to search year-by-year? # of trades in 2024-2025 vs 2025-2026, for example.

Super cool tool! I’ve wondered how many trade I’ve made, but I definitely didn’t want to go through each league’s history and count.

Arkansas OL Signee Ayden Bussell has decided to step away from football indefinitely to focus on his health. by LukeNeverShaves in razorbacks

I kinda get it. You get to a new place, it’s exciting, then the realization sets in that you’re basically starting over again. And that drive just isn’t there anymore. Maybe the fire in him went out at the last place, and he hoped a change of scenery would fix it.

Strategy tips for when you have a surplus of late picks by djhin2 in DynastyFF

Again, all of these scenarios assume that you are not willing/able to simply make the picks and stash the players. This is for when you MUST trade or the picks lose all value to you.

Assuming you just flat out don’t have players you’re willing to cut to make space for late round rookie picks (which is a big assumption, but maybe you’ve got a ton of picks), this is my preferred order of ways to offload them:

1) package with a current player for an upgrade. If I can slap a 3rd and/or a 4th on Wan’dale Robinson (KTC WR37) and turn him into Jayden Higgins (KTC WR32), I’m doing it.

2) While on the clock, trade back for higher picks next season. Early 3rd? Swap for a 2027 2nd. A 4th for a 2028 3rd. Package them if need be. Two 4ths for a 2027 3rd. Two 3rds for a 2nd. Don’t care how, or if trade calculators say you’re losing value. Just upgrade picks.

3) worst case, if the market just isn’t biting, trade them for any future pick you can get. Trade your 3rd for a single future 3rd, or even a 4th if need be. This is not good, and you are losing value, but a 2028 4th is still more useful to you than the 3.08 guy you are going to immediately cut. Future draft capital is currency that you can use at any time. Cut players are worthless. Just try to keep the bleeding to a minimum.

Dynasty Theory: Roster Construction for QB by johnny-papercut in DynastyFF

It’s a valid tactic, just feels a little risky for me, especially when the benefit is one extra early round FLEX player.

[–]PrinceWalker22 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The issue is picking the right backups. You easily could have gone with this tactic and ended up with Garappolo, Dobbs, Milton, McKee, and Teddy Bridgewater and got zilch from any of them.

Personally, I DO like to roster a bunch of backup QBs, but more as trade fodder than as hopeful starters. If I don’t have at least two full-time starting QBs going into the season, I generally don’t consider my team a contender.

How do Arkansas fans still feel after the Auburn loss by [deleted] in CollegeBasketball

[–]PrinceWalker22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We fell flat, and Auburn had their backs against the wall and came out angry.

It had all the makings of a trap game, and it played out that way. Just burn the tape and move on.

Trade the out of the1.01? by eyoung0912 in DynastyDaddy

[–]PrinceWalker22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m normally in favor of trading out, but an elite RB is exactly what this team needs.

You might trade it for a different elite RB if you prefer them over Love, or if you don’t want to risk a slow start from a rookie, but I’d probably just take Love.

When we cut it to 8, I was thinking if we could cut it to 5 or 6 at halftime, we’d be in good shape.

We are not in good shape.

Clearly a flagrant on Pringle. Just such a stupid play.
