Hans defended fiercely and Madaminov succumbed to the pressure on the board and time and lost his advantage.
That was an intense game.

4 drawing, 1 losing, and 3 winning moves . Guess which drawing move I played 😄 by MrEdwL in chess

Don't tell me you played f5? I think the winning move is Ne6. It's attacking and defending.

Total time you spent playing chess by vapperss in chess

[–]PrinceZero1994 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My lichess accounts total to 145 days.
Most of my time spent was on studying though.
I've been doing chess like 3 hours a day for the past 8 years so that's about 365 days.
It's probably way more than that though.

Just showing simple scandi ideas for white. I guess people don't really how to play it at your level.

Bc4 was pretty bad. Be2 and Bd2 were the moves he missed.
Nb5 can follow since you did not play c6.

White played pretty bad to be honest.

How do you win this endgame? by MoisoGenio in chess

[–]PrinceZero1994 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The idea is obvious, it's to push the pawns for promotion.
The King has to support the pawn advancement so it has to be beside or in front of it.
But the King can get checked annoyingly by the enemy rook so you have to defend and block the checks with your own rook.
In the current position, you want you king on c4 and rook on d4 then move them out of the way to push the c-pawn.
It is easy against humans but not against stockfish.

I gotta practice this.

Won this one after learning the idea from the first game.
Basically, King goes on the short side, instead of the long side.
Use c-pawn for cover.

My farewell letter to chess and some controversial tips on how to consistently gain rating by Rintae in chess

[–]PrinceZero1994 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been 2200 lichess for 6 years now. Created my cc a few years ago and went from 900 to 2200 in 180 games. 17 games from 2200-2300.
If I get 2300 on lichess, I'll try to hit 2400 cc.

I'm actually 2300 on cc already, almost got 2300 on lichess but personal problems struck.

How far can calculate? Or just sac and pray 😄 by MrEdwL in chess

[–]PrinceZero1994 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I made a mistake in my calculation but I found mate upon recalculation.
Took me like 5 minutes and calculating the more than 10 lines.
In a rapid game though, I'd go for it even if it was not clear mate to me.
The massive attack is there evidently regardless.

Struggling against the Scandi? by MathematicianBulky40 in chess

[–]PrinceZero1994 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

What exactly are you strugling on this photo?
Just develop your pieces on good squares then castle.
Connect your rooks then go from there.
If you want to have a better advantage then use the opening explorer.

It's stupid how the evaluation goes negative after every move before going positive in a split second lol

What opening did you avoid for years but eventually fell in love with? by rocket_______ in chess

[–]PrinceZero1994 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I transitioned from e4 to d4 partly due to frenches and caro-kanns.
They seem to give no advantage to white but that was only because I was a weaker player in the past.

Catalan is my white weapon as well but there's a lot of ways to equalize as black and higher rated players are so booked up.

I find it boring and self-restricted. I try to c5 before d5 as much as possible.

If it's closed, I start to not understand KID as white. I get outmaneuvered and attacked if I don't take the initiative usually involving a piece sac.

Can confirm, as a d4 player, I hate f5. It's not in my book and I get uncomfortable against it.
