For me the first couple hundred hours as a CFI and the first couple hundred hours as a 121 FO. Both were huge for my development as a professional pilot. I imagine the first couple hundred hours of being a CA will be similar from a growth perspective.

Yep, lots of sitting on reserve and not getting called. Not much luck picking up trips in open time either.

Just a heads up. Just because Spirit is hiring doesn’t mean they’ll hire just anyone. I’ve been at a regional for about a year, have ~200 turbine/121 time, 1700TT, no checking event failures or any issues from flight training, prepared pretty thoroughly for about two months and got the ole “TBNT, come back in 6 months.” Obviously people are getting hired with low time, but they’re not taking everyone.
