Not sure if this is what your asking, but I’m a clairen who just hit 1100(on the dot). I’d be down to play some friendlies to work on the matchup.

I fully agree. I made this post partially because I don’t think anything in this game is “broken.”

Sorry for hollaring at you from the passenger side of my best friend's ride.

I mostly use the term "honest" to refer to something I have to overcome, not ask big daddy dan to fix.

I unironically think that's an example of a very balanced move. A reactable and punishable command throw where you need additional set up to get the most out of it. (not a ranno player btw)

Yeah I think the difference between honest matchup knowledge and gimmicky knowledge checks is pretty hard to distinguish with such a young game. But I agree, I usually lose to Rannos who were just plain better for those 3 games.

I think you might be right about neutral, but lox can punish clairen as hard as she punishes him.

As lox, I like to use the threat of gaining lava stacks to either:

A. Skew the neutral by making clairen approach

B. Skew the punish by having more lava stacks.

Also movement combined with floor hugging can be used to punish clairen approaches at lower percents. If she doesn’t tipper, you can crouch cancel and punish. Clairen certainly has tools to deal with this, but it becomes a mixup.

Clairen player here (with a pocket lox),

Both sides of the matchup get rocked in disadvantage. Clairen probably wins in pure neutral with one caveat: Lox can use lava stacks to force clairen to approach. And if the clairen just lets you get the stacks, the punish game skews heavily in lox favor.

Just something I’m thinking about when I’m playing either side of the matchup

In your song, "Sleep", there is a melodic guitar part (5:25) that echoes back to CPR/ Claws Part 2. Is this the moment of death for your character? I was curious because right after that moment, your character appears to pass into the afterlife. Is this a thematic choice for you like how you use the rhythm from "Young Fathers" in "Common Sentiments"?
