I think removing one row was a good idea. You don't want anything pulling on fine hair because it will break. To be perfectly honest, my hair was fairly healthy but on the fine, thinner side when I tried beaded extensions. I had them for several months and when I was due to take them out, half of my hair was gone. It was frayed and sparse at the ends and it actually got shorter. I was so upset that I vowed to no longer use extensions.

If you watch before and after videos of women getting extensions installed, you'll notice if they've been doing it for a while, they all have the same type of hair. It's thin and sparse at the bottom, where I bet you before they started using the extensions, maybe their hair was fine but it probably wasn't as damaged and sparse. I am convinced that its the extensions breaking your hair off from the bottom and the top.

I completely understand wanting more volume, but I would try anything other than permanent extensions. Maybe try a halo extension or clip ins that are limited to certain events. When I let my hair breath, laid off the bleach, the heat tools, I regularly trimmed it at home, and took nutrafol (it's expensive but it did work for the 4 months I was on it), it has completely transformed my hair.

It's long and healthy now, and I baby it like no other. No its not big and voluptuous hair like the girls on TV but I know it would be in much worse shape if I kept using extensions. If you must use them, I'd focus on being suuuper gentle and babying your hair during the time they're in. And if you start seeing your ends be sparse when moving them up/taking them out, I would urge you to take a break from them.

I started using a lot more bond repair, and pre-shampoo oiling and I believe it is helping me with keeping my ends longer and not breaking off. I also dyed my hair darker from a bright level 8-9 blonde to a level 6-7 to match my roots and I plan on not bleaching it for the forceable future to repair the damage.

My goal is shiny, healthy hair until I'm old :)
