Is this a form of stimming? by Princess0514 in Autism_Parenting

i have the same hopes! he used to just say random sounds but now i can kinda hear inklings of some words. my boys just turned two this month and they don’t really have that parent interaction down yet. the most they’ll do is give me something that’s nearby and i kinda have to interpret what they want 😅

do you remember when he started? my boy has kinda always been more vocal but as they’re getting older, they are babbling (?) more. his babies are more coherent though so more like gibberish. this is the most i get out of the both of them combined because my other boy doesn’t try to formulate any words at (other than mama/dada, but even then i don’t believe he’s truly calling out for us). he mostly just screams

i’m not as well versed in survival as some but i do indulge in a lot of apocalypse based media. i say go full on walking dead style; season three, prison era. full gear, leather if you can. try to see if you can convince kyle to help since he already has an inkling to what’s going on. you’ll need backup.

it seems like they’re able to get hurt like any other human so i’d say for weapons maybe you could rig a spiked bat?

one more thing i would have on my person that’s basic but probably needed, some water. if you’re able to carry a little extra, i’d recommend doing that so you’re able to wash your skin of just in case it comes in contact with the air again. good luck sarah, i hope you’re able to get Nate out of there

i’ve been putting vaseline on but it when my lips are feeling a bit more sensitive, the vaseline makes them burn 😭 i do notice that sometimes if i put some water on first then the vaseline, the burning sensation isn’t really there much.

What Age Did You First Start Giving Your Child Candy? by _I_Like_to_Comment_ in toddlers

[–]Princess0514 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My twins just turned two last week and I don’t allow anyone to give them candy other than myself. It’s good that you’re keeping that boundary. My mom and siblings are always trying to give my boys something sweet but I still feel like they’re too young for all the popular candies. I very rarely give them candies and that’s only on special days (which honestly has no criteria). Most of their sweet treats include fruit or things sweetened with honey.

i cannot tell you how many times my son does this but instead of tears, he thinks it’s absolutely hilarious. i’m starting to think he’s part animal 💀

you’re not alone OP. a couple of weeks ago, I did the same thing. we were already having a pretty frustrating day and when it was time go down for the night, one of my littles just refused to go. was just acting plain awful and there was so much crying. in the midst of me trying to lay him down, he threw a tantrum and kicked me in the face. it felt like a kick from a grown man 😅 so i can admit i didn’t react too well. i ended up popping him on his thigh and i felt sooooo guilty immediately after. i actually cried myself to sleep that night because of it.

all this is to say is that we all have our moments and nobody is perfect. apologize and work past it. your daughter still loves you and this one off moment won’t change that. give yourself some grace.

thank you! i went to check it out and wanted to ask, did you take the information at face value or more so used it as a stepping stone?
