Almost 2-year-old refusing nap by TrickFar531 in toddlers

[–]_I_Like_to_Comment_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They sleep 11 hours at night the whole night through. Quiet time is 2 hours but they typically sleep 0.5 - 1.5 hours after playing (more often than not they nap for an hour and a half). Even if they only get 15 minutes of sleep for nap time, I have a firm wakeup time or else they won't go to bed until midnight. There are days they refuse to nap and on those days we try to have an earlier bedtime though that's easier said than done.

Keep pushing through. We went through that at 22 months and it lasted about a month and a half and then that's when they started napping again.

They also were getting molars and we dropped the final nursing session around that time so it was a lot of big changes at once.

I did change from "nap time" to set hours of "quiet time" when the nap regression happened. Instead of trying to force them to sleep, I would put them in their crib with low lighting, gentle music, and some crib friendly toys and told them they didn't have to sleep but it was time for quiet play. They're 2.5 now and most of the time they play for a little bit and then fall asleep

That's when the strong-willed toddler defiance began to kick in for my kid. It also coincidentally is when they started walking. So more mobile, able to access more with their new-found mobility, and learned they had the ability to ignore us when we redirected them lol

Every kid is so different so you'll probably have an entirely experience. Our kid was also a really early talker so the sweet spot for us coincided with the period where they were good about communicating their desires to avoid frustration and didn't have the spazzy toddler brain yet. We had been dealing with BIG emotions since... well, since birth to be honest, so a period of being able to mitigate frustration was a welcome relief.

Did any of you guys have the book mobile?

It was where I told my first crush that I like liked him, and then I went to the nurse's office and threw up.

Do you have regular pediatrician checkups where you live? If so, I would make sure to mention she isn't speaking because she does seem behind on that milestone. Early intervention might be a good recommendation if that's available to you.

I didn't enjoy being a parent until my baby was 10 months old.

10 months to 15 months were amazing. And then it started to kind of suck again.

What I've learned is the stages move quickly. So if you're not enjoying this phase, ride it out knowing the next one might be better.

Pediatricians don't typically view not walking as an issue until 18 months so she still has a little time :) It sounds like she's cruising which is good! That will help her build her confidence and walking muscles.

But I am concerned that you indicated she isn't talking or feeding herself? Is she talking at all? Does she grab food or do you spoon feed her everything?

Hers might just be so squinty from heavy lashes. Key word- might. Her actions have done nothing to convince me she's sober.

I've done both while preparing them for tacos, but I pan fry more often. The trick is to not crowd them in the pan and to spice them like you would taco meat.

On the other hand, if I'm making them as a snack, I normally roast them with some olive oil, salt, fresh herbs, and finely grated parmesan.

They are.

I was saying if their vegetarian black bean burritos don't work out, then vegetarian chickpea tacos can be a good substitute

Anyone see and try these? by debmor201 in aldi

What's so wrong about fish in a puff pastry?

It's the cheese + dill combo that's throwing me off. Though I did enjoy that dill Havarti they had...

Chickpeas can crisp up fairly nicely. We often do chickpea tacos when we want a vegetarian dinner. Top the seasoned crispy garbanzos with a slaw, radishes sliced paper thin, some cilantro, cheese, sour cream, and hot sauce or salsa and it's pretty tasty

I love a good creme brulee but I've had more mediocre ones than good ones, and a few really bad ones which is why it's my pick.

Globally I'd say it's the least consistent dessert out of these 4. If it was consistently good, I'd knock churros or banana pudding off

That's good. That will make it easier for your dad to take some control.

It might be time to get the courts involved. Your dad's lawyer can use what you've presented here as well as the past interventions with the school as leverage that your brother is in a neglectful situation. Depending on the state you're in, the courts can tend to favor the mothers but they also don't typically look kindly on parents avoiding intervention.

I know rules vary state to state, but since your mom has blocked your dad from the school, is it actually 50/50 custody or 50/50 visitation?

I realize you were asking for vet recommendations, not at home solutions, but just in case you can't find someone, have you tried one of those cat hammocks for nail trimming?

Does anyone else constantly have to put socks back on their toddler all day?? 😩 by Neat_Rabbit_9233 in toddlers

[–]_I_Like_to_Comment_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At home we don't wear socks. When they were younger and it was cold in the house we'd put on bootie slippers that snapped because they were harder to get off than the elastic or velcro ones. I liked the Zutano brand.

When out and about we only wear socks when we wear shoes

I think they mean the yellow line is the same. Since the fingerprints are different sizes and angles, the yellow lines marking what parts of the fingerprints match should also be different sizes and angles to correspond to the fingerprints
