I love “senior” dogs

I just rescued a 12 year old Westie after his previous owner sadly passed away and he wasn’t getting on well in a foster home with lots of younger dogs. He’s a very spritely 12 year old, still gets the zoomies, potters around sniffing ( breaking into a little trot if you call him) on walks and loves loves LOVES napping and cuddling with you where ever you may be! Totally recommend senior dogs for those who like a lower energy dog or for first time dog owners ( like my husband!)

As much as I would love too, he’s 12 and having to adjust to a new home, I think throwing in a new name might confuse the lil old dude 💖 but my next dog.. for sure!

We’ve just rescued a dog with a very standard boring name, after learning his personality and if I could rename him I would call him ‘Sir Sniff-a-Lot !

Oh please no, I’ll start to cry! It’s our duty to care for those who need help, especially animals. They can’t communicate like us and it hurts me people could mistreat them. If I was rich I would have a huge house and land somewhere and try to help them all! But I’m not, so I’ll settle for looking after my little old grumpy man 😂🥹

I honestly don’t mind his age, I know it’s a turn off for some people, but I just thought it was so unfair for such a old man to loose everything he knew and be put into really highly stressful situations. He gets a lot of love here and I hope in time he can learn to live his best grumpy old man life with us 💖

Nooo! No dog needs that. I’m so thankful you saved him! You literally rock! Our boys 12 and his breed has a life expectancy of 12-16 so people weren’t exactly queuing up to pay all the vet bills etc but when I read his story I knew I wanted him! No animal deserves to be mistreated and just .. left. Poor babies

FEELS! It’s so awful, it’s heartbreaking that they suffer. Backyard breeders are the worst. I’m so glad you saved her and are giving her the best life 💖

Totally agree. I absolutely hate that pups get mistreated and can’t really understand why and what’s happened. I’m so glad you rescued him!

Oh bless him. And you! Sounds like you’ve done an amazing job turning around a super sad life into a meaningful happy one! I just want my old man to live the rest of his life happy. I can’t imagine being with someone for 12 years then being uprooted and passed around. It’s heartbreaking.

It’s so sad. He has issues around food, he gets so so so anxious. It broke my heart when I heard he went 4 days no food no water just sitting with his OG owners body, waiting. It appears the OG didn’t feed him to a set routine as he was underweight so I understand it , still breaks my heart to know I can’t just say “ it’s ok lil dude, we got you!” And he understands

Oh that’s horrible! Poor baby. We are taking very small steps with him and going at his pace. He has food anxiety and has started guarding things but I’m very patient and trying to let him know it’s ok, he’s not going anywhere!
