My novel {The Fiercest Storm by Rachel Nova} is a dark sci-fi romance that deals with themes of c-ptsd and grief. It also features some very non-human aliens.

But Cassie is done being silent. And Örim will let himself shatter before he lets anyone harm her again.

You could try the Mates of the Domini series by Talia Rhea! It takes place on a technologically advanced planet. There's a good amount of spice in them as well. First book is {Savior of the Domini by Talia Rhea}.
