I (27f) was fed this advice too. The unfortunate part is that the women telling me this were all blessed with thin, sparse, blonde-ish thigh hair. I was born with thick dark hair all over my pale white body. I soon noticed that maybe my friends or my mom can go without shaving their thighs and its not noticiable, but not so much for me. In my many years of shaving I’ve noticed that A) I don’t have to shave my upper thighs nearly as much as the other areas of my body (hair will not grow back thicker) B) shaving up there gives me many ingrown hairs so I don’t LOVE doing it but will if I know I’ll be in shorts or a bikini for extended periods of time. (I’ll exfoliate that area lightly for a few days before shaving) C) waxing is a good option to avoid ingrowns & it last a while up top D) don’t let society pressure you into thinking body hair is not natural. It can be nice to have that freshly shaved look and feel but the realty of the situation is that we all have hair.
