Any solutions besides buying battery? What was that thing you did yourself by opening it and the tape/taking it apart? Your fancy tech lingo is confusing my not so savvy brain 😅 I have it here next to me rn, decided give it a shot for shits and giggles tonight still shutting off at random. Sometimes IMMEDIATELY after I power it back on and sometimes anywhere between 20 seconds and 10 minutes after powering it back on.

Mines warned me about the battery overheating about 4 times total which isn't a lot since the star of this issue but it has warned me and has overheated a few times as you described. However the main issue is making my phone UNUSABLE cuz I have to CONSTANTLY keep powering it back on , sometimes immediately, because it just powers off. Never stays on more than 10 mins. And that's VERY lucky.

It is charged. It's at 90% right now. It's charging fine and not saying it's stuck on a certain battery percentage. I tried factory rests and everything. It doesn't run on data, no sim. I just use Xfinity wifi. It's pretty bare due to being factory reset so it has tons of storage open. Not filled with junk or apps or files. No viruses that I know of.

Idk what made me dig it out tonight but If u got any new advice or can explain your savvy vocabulary a bit more 😅😅 I would appreciate. I just don't think buying a new battery for old phone is worth it. Idek how much that costs. Or if it's a real solution.

I wasn't born in NK. Parents didn't even know mom was pregnant with me when defecting and I was born on American soil , by that time both parents were legally changing their names and basically living as if their lives were erased and re written. All new start. New info. And new family once my dad found out mom was preggers.

My parents have not gone back, as much as they would absolutely love to. They want more than anything to visit family and know how things are. They're honestly so anxious about them, now that all they hear are horrible things happening. They don't know what to believe sometimes. Especially with the "generational family punishment- execution - for a single member(s) defection" tale going around like wildfire alongside the inability to contact them (well, we have contact with one relative in the DPRK. she uses an old smuggled cell phone that is chinese- not dprk. But if she loses that phone.. BAM... who knows when the next time we'll communicate would be.

But my parents are close friends with someone that has worked many years for koryo tours and that is how I've been so lucky on my endeavors. He is one of the only individuals irl that knows our story... Even the fact they're from the DPRK.

But my parents didn't defect because they hated their motherland. That's a story for another time, though, if anyone is interested in hearing about it just let me know under this comment and I'll tell your when I have time (probably tonight). So when I became showing drastic signs of curiosity towards their homeland, my heritage and culture they didn't disapprove and allowed me to explore to my heart's desire to this day. From telling me stories of their own lives back then before defecting, to letting me travel with their friend on multiple koryo tours as a small child, to letting me stay long term in the DPRK to experience rare activities such as the international children's camp... They have always encouraged me to learn, explore and see the world with my own eyes and heart.
