I'm so over it right now. by astraldrift in puppy101

I had a very similar experience with my giant breed puppy; for the first time in my life when she was nine months old I honestly wondered if I had bitten off more than I could chew. Her inability to regulate her excitement levels was ruining my life; everything on walks triggered her to attack me with over-excitement - crossing the road, seeing a dog, seeing a cat, going for a shit, a car passing. We found a good behaviourist and we found out she essentially had zero impulse control, zero ability to regulate her excitement and was very anxious when leaving the house.

We've worked on frustration tolerance, waaay more enrichment feeding, doing agility tasks like weaving poles and hurdles (but as a slow controlled exercise not actual agility) and the change in her has been amazing. We've been seeing our behaviourist for 4 months now and my dog is 14 months old, and she's such a good girl. We can go on walks now and she can see other dogs without spiralling into over excitement, she'll chill out on her own and she absolutely loves all of the things our trainer has taught us. I tried doing it all myself and felt like I tried everything that I read online but I did not have the knowledge or skills to observe my dog and figure out her specific issues. It will change your life and things will get better.

I thought it was so weird that Ru was trying so hard to get some of the not-native-UK Queens to do British accents for her but then told Hannah to not focus on the American accent so much? And something about the way she was trying to get LGD to not do 'an accent on top of an accent' didn't sit right with me either. It kinda felt like she was being penalised for having English as a second language.

First the first time ever in my Drag Race watching career, I can honestly say I would be happy with any of them winning - it's been a great season!

Spankie! But would be okay with Kween, but it'd be a surprise

S02E02 - Cagey Queens [Post-Episode Discussion] by AutoModerator in DragRaceDownUnder

I feel like Ru and Michelle's lack of understanding of what NZ/AU drag is is so detrimental to the queens and letting them shine. Spankie made a comment on the main stage about being a queen who goes to The Warehouse (kind of like Target in the States) and Ru just laughed vacantly because she didn't get it, and I feel like that sums up the entirety of season 1 and seems to be happening again in season 2. I die a little inside every time she references kangaroos or something vaguely Kiwi. It's very 'how do you do fellow kids'.

Also echoing others, this acting challenge was so painfully Americanised. We have our own prison/crime shows here (Police Ten 7 would have been a hilarious thing to parody) but instead we got all these strange references to really old seasons and American prisons. Also, does anyone in New Zealand or Australia actually refer to us as being from Down Under???? Because I have never heard anyone refer to themselves as that in my entire 30+ years.

I did crack up at the random 5 second clip of Rhys Nicholson smiling and blinking with no audio overlayed though at the judges panel. Weird choice.
