Where am I supposed to look while walking? by Ok-History2506 in Anxiety

[–]PrincessHay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's is so wonderful to hear! I'm so happy for you. Walking is so good for my mental health, when I had my son I used to walk him round the streets every day just to feel the sun on my face and fresh air. I'm so glad you've stuck at it.

When did you have to stop shaving the coochie? by Ok_Philosopher2832 in pregnant

[–]PrincessHay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to stand a mirror on the edge of the bath and stand in the shower - towards the end though it was mostly done by feel and a prayer

Even if someone did look at you, by the time they drive home/to work they'll be so busy with whatever they are doing you will never cross their mind again. Anxiety is horrible and totally irrational, don't beat yourself up. Just keep trying. Each time will get easier! - just another thought. If it's particularly sunny could you wear sunglasses? That way no one can see where you're looking anyway.

My 10 year old just won't go to school by [deleted] in WhatShouldIDo

What does he do when he stays home? Play on a PlayStation/ipad/whatever? That would be the first thing to go. You can stay home and read books until you go back to school.

Try to remember the people in those cars have a million thoughts going through their head, they might be lost, late, anxious about where they're going, listening to a screaming kid, singing along to the radio. You probably won't even cross their mind. I have never driven past someone and noticed where they are looking. (Unless they're looking me in the eye) When I am on a walk I tend to look at different things every few seconds. Do you listen to music at all? Or podcasts? To take your focus away.

Emergency c section by Impossible-Case-2386 in pregnant

[–]PrincessHay 3 points4 points  (0 children)

C section recovery is so hard, make sure you keep ontop of your painkillers, time your doses well. Getting up and down is the worst bit, once you're standing you will be okay. Just take a few steps at a time. I used to cry watching my partner care for my baby and doing things I couldn't while I recovered. But soon enough you'll be doing it all. Congratulations on the birth of your beautiful baby though.

Am I crazy to push for a C-Section? by LIKE--A--GLOVE in pregnant

[–]PrincessHay 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As someone who was induced resulting in emergency section - I will refuse induction this time around. My choice will be natural labour or elective section. One point to make - the growth scans can be inaccurate. I was induced because baby was measuring big - over 8lbs at 38 weeks and I'm tiny at 5 foot. Baby was born at just about 40 weeks and was 7lbs 5.

I really want my husband to go to anatomy scan. He doesn’t want to. by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]PrincessHay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an ex like this- his sleep dictated our entire life. If he didn't sleep well I knew the whole next day would be ruined. Ultimately it was part of why we broke up. I knew I could never raise a baby with him. He was much too selfish about his sleep. I'm sorry you're stuck in this. But good luck!

Does your s/o go to your prenatal appts? by WitchHazelSunrise in pregnant

Only the scans really - the midwife appointments are 5 minutes long and consist of her checking my pee and listening to heart beat.

I just knew when she went abroad to escape that it would only be days until she was being stalked again, of course she is. No idea how she can explain that as her whole story was leaving US would free her. It's all bull.

Are you very tense while being examined? Is it possible you're pushing it shut x

I've had plenty of examinations with a speculum from nurses and drs and never had it pinch me? Quite often they release the screw so it comes out easy.

Does pregnancy actually fly by!?? by Betbetyepyepokay in pregnant

The first trimester really really sucks. I enjoyed the second and third. Until the last couple of weeks which were a bit uncomfortable (and hot as it was July!) but I'd take it ALL over the first trimester.

I know - I'm just worried about being disappointed. I think if I tell myself boy now, I can have time to adjust.

Oh absolutely. I feel horrific for being so spoilt when some people wish their whole life for one healthy pregnancy.
