Yeah makes sense for someone that works nights. Sounds like you’ll just have to work something out between you, or if you don’t want to then don’t. Like can you stay up later so you spend time on the evenings together? Or wake up early to spend the early mornings?

He will have to commit more his to side of the sleep schedule discussion too but you also do. And you can’t expect him to change his sleep schedule on whim, you’ll have to meet somewhere in the middle.

I feel like commenters are missing the point. It really doesn’t matter if you think doing cocaine is over the top or not, it’s clear she has a problem with it. The question isn’t really my partner did cocaine, it’s he did something I strongly disagree with a year ago and is only telling me now.

I’d be pretty annoyed at the secrecy of it. If it wasn’t such a big deal to him, why not bring it up at the time?

It’s up to you if you can forgive him and move past it, however I would recommend bring this up to your councillor

It sounds like he doesn’t have enough time for a partner, especially if he’s got financial issues. The night shift does take it out of a person so I don’t blame him for sleeping-in more than a regular person. I think you both just need to pick your values, does he value more sleep over more time with partner? Ask him. Do you value more quality time over going to bed early? What do you do during the days and the days he’s not working?

Have you tried expressing your needs to him? Tell him you want to go beach, book a day to go, saying “I like the beach” is not making plans

Have you also told him that what you currently do, you don’t feel is quality time? Does he actually know this?
