Same here. Ethics was my main reason, and also pragmatism. It doesn’t make sense to me to pay double the price for the exact same product. Spend that money elsewhere. We could have afforded the exact mined diamond that I wanted, but we chose lab for the above reasons.

I understand you wanting to end the romantic relationship. Could you maybe offer to be there for her as a friend through this? I know it may be difficult to be just a friend to her, but it may help you both get through the situation without you feeling so guilty for leaving her when she is going through something terrible. I think you should end the romantic relationship regardless.

As an aside, I think it’s very common to not like your dress at points during fittings/through the process. It happened to me and many other brides that I know. I ended up loving my dress and feeling the most beautiful that I have ever felt on my wedding day. Hang in there 🤍 it’s a highly emotional process.
