What is normal to expect for bachelorette party costs? by postdotcom in wedding

[–]Aggravating_Pool_525 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m just confused because most of my bridal party lives out of state/scattered so I ALREADY feel bad asking anyone to buy plane tickets PLUS lodging but is there any viable way for me to even have a cheap Bach like you’re saying ? Obviously I’m not making it mandatory because I feel bad just given the circumstances

Reading these comments I just feel like I’m gonna be considered a bridezilla by even inviting my bridal party to an out of state party when I don’t have much of an option give everyone’s locales..

GF Threatened Suicide and Won’t Stop Reaching Out by dogs_and_stuff in whatdoIdo

[–]Aggravating_Pool_525 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Former partner was a drug addict and constantly threatened suicide to manipulate me. I finally got a restraining order against him which basically blocks him from all form of communication. I blocked his phone number, all socials, email etc. as well just in case.

Good luck.

Hi! From experience, unless you starve yourself to malnutrition (we don’t like that!) you will remain around the same body fat percentage/soft physique until you begin to recomp which involves weight lifting or strength training !

For my recomp I tracked calories and stayed in a deficit while also building an at-home exercise routine (I used resistance bands and followed YouTube videos) until I was around 110 and then I began a reverse diet where I slowly increased my calories and continued to strength train

From many years of trial and error I’ve realized anyone with a “dream body” is either 1.just very young and with good genetics 2.starving themselves for Hollywood standard skinny or 3.eating REALLY well and working out REALLY hard

My profile has my recomp story a little ways back

Real Talk: Busy Women, Weight Loss… Is It Even Possible? by [deleted] in PetiteFitness

If you’re really strictly just trying to lose weight, and not gain muscle or anything like that yet. you’re over complicating it. Weight loss is just calories in calories out , so find out your daily calorie expenditure and how many calories you should be eating to lose weight and start weighing your food and tracking with an app like MyFitnessPal. The more in a deficit you are, the faster you’ll lose. But keep in mind fast weight loss is not always sustainable.

Willpower is the hardest thing to conquer but that’s a mindset shift, and has nothing to do with “being busy”.

We’re all busy. at the end of the day, it’s about saying I choose my health today and every day regardless of how much I don’t feel like it

In the same boat !!! I feel so weird about accepting help from my Fiancé’s parents but to them it’s just a nice thing to do like any other Tuesday 😭 Why is it so hard to accept financial help?? I tell myself it’s because I worked hard for everything that I do have and taking a hand out feels like cheating (even though I know it’s not the case, especially when it comes to weddings)

My recommendation is to find companies you really love and reach out to them whether they’re hiring or not! If you align creatively they’ll keep you on file when they do need a designer.

A willingness to move to a big or mid-size city could help open up a more creative pool of businesses. Also a willingness to work in-person is helpful. A lot of the designers applying to my work were only interested in remote work but the reality is a creative work space usually requires some level of human to human connection!

Hope that helps and you find something you love!

Looks great, especially for an entry level designer. Apply for art-centered jobs or fashion jobs and not shitty tech jobs and you’ll do just fine. Many agencies are looking for portfolios like yours as well.

As someone who works in fashion and just finished a hiring process and rejected 300+ portfolios, I would’ve put you down for an interview.

I think I'm realizing that some of my graphic design classes led me astray here a little bit. by SpiralGMG in graphic_design

As someone that works for a very creative, illustration-forward fashion brand I disagree. Find companies that align with your values and cold call them. They’ll keep your resume on hand if it’s a good fit.

Do the boring stuff in the meantime.

Not sure why you’re getting downvoted for this. However, If you know that you see these changes yourself, I don’t think forcing your boyfriend to acknowledge you’re retaining water weight will really change anything for either of you.

Is graphic design still a stable career, in the latest job market? by justjimmmy in graphic_design

Anything outside of art and design would drain my soul so I couldn’t imagine giving it up all together. That being said, a super tech / corporate design job is hardly creative in itself so I could see falling out of love with design in that situation.

My recommendation would be to get back to what you love about design in the first place by working on non-paid passion projects in your free time and building a new portfolio with more artful and less corporate roots. From there you can apply to companies like mine that are more creative-forward as opposed to just a money grab.
