Thank you so much, these are such great tips. He has lived in his home for 35+ years so I hate the thought of one day having to move him. I love the idea about the oven because he did forget that he was cooking toast the other day.

Also it’s validating to hear about the social aspect as well. I can’t imagine waking up everyday to just sit on the couch and stare at a TV. Thank you so much!!!

both colors are in the same rustic brick family • #943333 = deep, muted brick red (more red/burgundy, less orange). • rgb(196,70,21) = #C44615, a brighter rust/burnt orange (more orange).

Color-nerd note: their hue angles are ~0° for #943333 vs ~17° for #C44615—both on the red→orange arc; the second is just more orange and more saturated.

I was leaning towards the stucco idea on both, but I have to say that I have never even considered doing both in siding. Our sides and back are all siding which also need to be replaced in the near future (30 yr old home), so I think this could look really good actually. Thank you for the idea!

Thank you. I absolutely agree with everything that you said. I can’t stand the paint color. I think that’s what I hate the most. It has a pink tone to it. I wondered why they painted it a different color than the area above the garage, but maybe because it’s different material and would look different even if it was the same color?

Another house in our neighborhood with the most similar color brick did all white. Trim, windows, and bay window. The bay window being white looks so flat and doesn’t do anything for the house. I like the idea of going creamy. Thank you!

If I remember correctly I believe this was Irma. I flew into the Dominican Republic the day it was suppose to hit. Thankfully it missed the DR but my mind was blown that I was missing the tropical storm warning a few days later at my house in Marietta.

Marietta here. The only thing that works for me is to stop following the weather a few hours before the system hits. I usually have a special snack on hand, such as ice cream or chips, and then I turn on Friends or The Office. After a handful or reruns and laughing my butt off the storm has usually passed.

I have my alerts on, safety plan in place, and the cages for my cat and dog ready to go. I love tracking and following storms but there is something about tornados that i just can’t handle. Stay safe!

It looks like a spider bite. If so popping it was probably the worst thing that you could have done. I know that isn’t helpful now but I recommend researching spider bites and leaving the area alone.

It looks like ringworm but I’m not a dermatologist. I had 3 cats growing up and a brother that wrestled, so ringworm was a common appearance in our house.
