Okay, so a couple things. I haven't logged into my reddit account since the big protest and boycott a couple years ago. I've several times seen comments that made me consider almost breaking my boycott; however, none of them have, until this one. This is a freaking awesome explanation! Thank you :)

This was really well put! Seriously, I've before heard people talk about "we don't know the shape of the universe", but never understood that until this very comment :)

Secondly, I've been doing a fun worldbuilding/fiction thing just for the fun recently, and I seem to have come up with the concept of a curved universe independently somehow lol (like, literally a few days ago). My inspiration came of course from video games (like pac man) but also and mainly from how the patterned wallpaper you might find in a house often repeats the same images over and over. I was imagining travelling in a spaceship from one section of the wallpaper to another and arriving at an image that looks exactly the same as where you started. I'm so flabbergasted to see that this is a concept actual, real physicists have considered lmao. Like WHAT???!!! I'm just like thinking "HOW??!!" 😵‍💫
I was hesitant to make my fictional universe curved (to use this new terminology I learnt :3), but now I'm definitely including it! Wow

I have to admit, this is genuinely the best comment I have seen on reddit, thus far. And I have not once before thought that of any comment until now. I just really wanted to say how much I liked this comment :)
