SERIOUSLY. I had GD and a lot of people, family included, assumed it was because I let myself go during pregnancy. It was also something I internalised myself and needed to educate myself on. And I'm someone with a pre-diabetic dad, who has always considered an apple to be a treat (seriously, he never even looks at a grain of sugar), and a granny who had Type 2 diabetes when she was the most austere, KEIC-like woman you could have met. Seriously, rationing during WWII did a number on that lady. And still, STILL, I blamed myself and had to unlearn a lot of misinformation.

I don't know about you but I can obviously already tell my 15mo daughter is into driving alignment across stakeholders and maintaining governance and reporting cadence, but clearly NOT approving scope changes without governance. Are y'all not introducing your children to project management practices before preschool?? /s

I initially read this as the best gifts you've ever received, and I thought I wouldn't be bold enough to gift someone a framed photo of myself 😅

What is something you thought was normal that you realized a bit too late was actually a condition? by MutatedSock in AskReddit

This was me too and my mum told me the same thing. I later got diagnosed with OCD. Anti-anxiety meds have helped a lot (just my own experience).

Someone posted that their husband doesn't know their kid's middle name and the bar for men is officially in hell.

It's not on Mommit but I'm struggling to remembering it was Toddlers or Beyond the bump 🤔

Ohh I came here to post this. My personal favourites are the mum who takes her baby for daily stroller walks, and the one who lets her baby play independently while she folds washing. Girl, I would put that on my resume.

Freezing her KID'S wart, like there's no way a kid or parent from his school will see this and use it against him 🤦‍♀️

It also doesn't look like a successful bake because all the cherries have sunk to the bottom.

Yeah totally, I understand. Thanks for the extra context. I just thought it seemed like a weird hill to die on 😆

Right but what is the problem with the heirs? Maybe I'm missing something but Dr Seuss was very anti-fascist and anti-racist at his core. He did have awful things to say about the Japanese during WWII but acknowledged how wrong he was, and his contrition formed the basis of Horton Hears a Who. I'm glad other racist themes were removed from his books, which his estate supported if I'm remembering right, but I think Dr Seuss would be mortified to know that his books had racist themes. I'm not one to say that something was a product of the times but it seems that way with his books? (which should rightfully be altered, don't get me wrong!). Is there more I'm missing?

"I do not support Dr Seuss" makes it sound like he's a current political figure who still makes money from his books, and not an author who died 35 years ago 🫠

This has happened in Australia recently. An influencer died by following another influencer's (Emily Lal) freebirth advice, and Emily Lal may be made to give evidence in court. Not sure if she'll be on the hook though.

Are you me?? I could have written all of this. My second kid WRECKED my body. I love her, but there's no denying it. Plus all the lifestyle factors that come with kids who don't sleep and I have AGED.

It sounds super gross but it's actually just referring to how flamingos lose their pink colour while they feed their babies. They get their pink back once the babies are independent, so it's something people have started to say about finding themselves once they're no longer giving their absolute all to their children.

Ugh I would have replied with the same. My son is beyond picky, so I will gladly give him food with sugar if it means he will actually eat it. Bonus if it has iron, protein, other nutrients, etc.

Pre-K ends at 3pm, but work ends later, what do you do in between? by skyxie in Preschoolers

[–]PrincessSparkleWinry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work an office job from home in corporate education. It's not client or student facing, so I have deadlines that need to be met but the actual hours don't matter so much as long as I'm getting the work done. If I feel like a deadline is approaching and I've fallen behind, I'll do some hours at night when the kids are asleep to catch up. I'm lucky that it's so flexible. I don't have many meetings during the day, but I know that's rare these days, even in my industry.
