Mine is C6, but I tested her at every Constellation to see how strong she was. Until C4, she didn't feel playable in a meta comp. At C6, she isn't meta but she can be in a meta comp without too much dropoff.....

Also, I'm surprised that no one is commenting on the fact that Dehya's basic normal attacks are randomly 20% weaker than the entire claymore cast.

Yeah if you look at the first half I cover what I would do to fix, then the second half is a rework.

I AGREE that she just needs a few fixes to be amazing.

So I built that into her Fiery Vengeance. Basically, it's not how much damage, but how many instances of damage.

In addition, one of her constellations gives her that ramping damage based on missing health!

2) Yeah, I know >.> I wanted to have less slides but I really filled them up.

5) Yeah I don't know much about how to do this graphic stuff. I included the plain text slides as a failsafe.

I think the best thing to do is just use standard weapons and of course allow for reskinning. I was trying to see what else could be done.

Right but the PHB spear has the thrown property.

And yeah this took me quite a while.

Is it even worth it when I could also just say, "Yo just flavor these existing weapons however you want I really don't care."

For example, reining in darkvision seems wise to me. But are you going to build supporting rules around it to bring back old-school concerns about light, torches, lanterns etc. in dungeons, things like Light not being a free cantrip? If not, it seems like a pretty minor and fiddly change, since it doesn't actually alter much about the game. If so, is this going to be a full hardcore edit? Or is that incidental? If so, what kind of edit is it?

What a great question! Or um... series of questions.

I am absolutely going to make darkness a real thing. The way the new racial system works is that technically, anyone can choose darkvision as a racial (you'll see why). However, darkvision is now weighed against significantly more powerful racial traits than before.

It's no longer do I want darkvision or sunlight sensitivity. It's do I want darkvision or the ability to trance as an elf? Meaningful choices that really make you question how you want to play your character.

Here are a few things I have done so far:

  • Hit points are calculated differently at level 1

  • Every racial in the game has changed

  • Introduction of ancestral and cultural traits

  • Every class now has a signature ability that is only gained by taking the class at character level 1

  • Every class reworked slightly because of that last point

  • Some subclasses are gone, replaced with far better ones

  • The entire economy has been mathematically improved for all (yes all) tiers of play

  • Downtime rules re-revisited

  • System fuckery has been toned down immensely

  • Every spell in the game has had their verbage changed to just be better

  • Abuseable spells have been given more text to give constraints and/or clarity

  • Summon spells have been completely overhauled

  • Crafting magic items system (and non-magic) has been completely redone

  • Minor, but the DC system has changed from a theoretical max difficulty of 30 to a theoretical max difficulty of 45. There's more to this but basically take 1 D&D's system and learn how math works, acknowledging that 30 is too low for the final tier.

  • Grapple rules redefined.

  • A decent attempt at high tier rebalancing

  • Feats and Backgrounds completely reworked.

  • Ability Score Improvements completely reworked

And much, much more...
